Stumbled on this video this morning. I’m having this operation tomorrow morning due to something called Kienbock’s disease. I’m not getting blood flow to my lunate bone, and now it appears fractured in the scans bc I’ve waited too long. Nervous as hell but I need to move on with my life. I’m active with golf and work I’m a machinist so pretty hands on guy. I’ve heard down the road possibly full wrist fusion is possible but this is where I’m at now. Trying to stay positive and I know I have a long road to recovery. Thankfully my job will allow me to take off from work 6-8 weeks if needed. I’m thinking of making a video myself for those that will have to go through this or something similar. Lack of info out there so would like to help whoever I can.

I'm impressed. I had my first one done 11/19/24 and the second one is scheduled for 2/28/25. I'm motivated to play more tennis, so without surgery I was limited to an hour or so. I'm already feeling better on my replaced knee, especially downhill with much less fatigue. Would love to do more hiking as well. You are doing what all surgery patience should do. Work those legs!

how many years does the implant last and then what happens
@ApeMan2 ай бұрын
Hopefully I’m dead before I need another! LOL but they are expected to last 15-20 years or more. The 2nd replacement is more complex. That’s one of the reasons I’ve dropped 60lbs since my first knee replacement since weight is one of many factors that can increase wear on your new bionic knee.

So glad to hear that your knees are doing well. I had both knees replaced and unfortunately I developed arthrofibrosis. I still hike the trails here in Kentucky but it's painful to go downhill. My doctor told me about 15% of knee replacement patients will develop arthrofibrosis. Not much can be done other than to live with it. I watched your knee replacement video and it was so much help for me when I was about to have my knee replaced.

Looks like a nice hike in an interesting part of the Sierra Nevadas. I hope to get back to some local hiking. Last hike I took in our Thunder Mountains otherwise known as the Huachucas I did fine, even though a snail could have beat me in a race I have made a wonderful comeback after almost 3 years of recovering from painful, disablina cg injuries. I am right now putting in 6 to 7 hours a day landscaping my place from the ground up. As I am reaching a good point to take a break and as the weather cools I'll begin working my way up a canyon 4 miles with a 2800 ft elevation gain. I don't know how long it might take me to condition enough to do that but I'll be hiking and given that I'm soon turning 83 that's pretty good. I always enjoy your vids and seeing those great Mountains again. BTW was your hike on the Western side or Eastern side of Carson Pass?

My friend and I stayed in a cabin at Kit Carson Lodge on Silver Lake from 10/4 - 10/8. Hauled our kayaks up and had a grand time paddling and doing short day hikes in the area. We were nearly alone on the lake and trails. Thunder Mountain is a beautiful sight from Silver Lake. I looked at the maps and wished I could hike to the top, but my friend is unable to hike that many miles. I predicted that the trail was on the somewhat narrow ridge between Caples and Silver lakes. Watching you, I think it might be the same ridge I could see. While paddling in and walking around the lake, we saw many volcanic intrusions. Now I know what they’re called! Thanks Apeman. 😊
