Played quite a few money games, though admittedly MtG. If my opponent fouled up a start like that, we’d be going to a mutual put back, reshuffle, and new draw, to satisfy them I wasn’t pulling anything while demanding they reset. Nizar letting that game continue I can only put down to either arrogance, or for whatever inexplicable reason, his not caring about the game’s result. Maybe he thought it would be a great dig, to be able to say he smoked Blake despite him having that unearned advantage, dunno. Not ever, *ever* something I’d have let pass, even in one of the volume 10$ games I trawled for a bigger game with. It makes you look like either a pushover, or an overconfident sucker. While the latter image has potential value in money games, that’s not the kind of gambling I wanted to take part in.

I trully hated that format, i were hyped for the dracoslayer new cards and all new cards of it. Then i just couldn't play during my first turn, it was a good format for those who played tearlaments but for who doesn't, well fuck us. I quit yugioh but still watch videos and stuff but never gonna think about return to this game where turn does not exist. Today i play pokemon and digimon tcg, i like the feeling to own the turn

The funny thing is that if Mystic Mine had come out in the olllllld days when *everybody* was monster-dependent and tribute summoning was still the norm, it would have been hilariously easy to counter/backfire.

No, it would've been far stronger back then actually. Back then Swords of Revealing Light were limited to 1 after all, and those are an extremely weak version of mine. And mine burn runs 0 monsters and mostly even used oldschool cards like Ojama Trio + Just Desserts or Wave Motion Cannon.

Fiber jar is annoying if it gets off but not too hateable. If it gets destroyed by a card effect it won't go off.

Mystic mine was the solution to the game being a combo fest where turns could take several minutes, (For slower players upwards of 15 minutes) to set up a massive OP board and prevent people from playing. I recall it getting so bad that sometimes a single coin flip at the start of the game to decide who goes first would be the deciding factor or who won and lost. The game was unplayable, and mystic mine was a... Way to stop that... But it felt like they over corrected and then made basically the massive board stopping combo a single card. People who championed it became the thing they hated most (Including me) shutting down boards left and right in response to broken BS long winded combos. I think Yugioh needs some kind of Resource system being honest to correct some of the problems. For example if a player sets up 6+ negates on turn one, that's basically it. Player 2 can never have enough cards to win if the negates are set up with a common setup in mind. And now that we're able to easily set up 10+ negates on turn one it's clear there needs to be something to stop that so we don't end up with another heavy over correction. Until then I'll just play casual YGO with friends were we have nice house rules preventing our thousand dollar decks from just turning it into coin flip the game.

People malding over the fact they couldn't play their deck made entirely of monsters against Mine will never not be funny to me. Literally Episode 1, Yugi's first lesson to Joey lmao
@nicolaistuhlmuller8718

Meanwhile mystic mine shuts down almost any control deck too. Yugioh is a game about dealing damage with monsters, a card that removes that shuts down almost any deck through the entire history of the game.
