Very important philosophy of balance. Not just work the body down but also recover, meditate, relax.

Ronnie coleman had a serious back inquiry when he played football and never treated it until his late stages as Mr. O. It is NOT bodybuilding NOT his 800 lbs sqaut and so on that caused these inquires. It caused elbow and bone grwoth way out of normal but not his inability to walk.
@TheTaoWay

In my research for this video, I came across many sources that pointed to a particular squatting session as being the impetus for this. I even have a video of Ronnie Coleman himself talking about this incident causing a herniated disc and contributing to his inability to walk: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZ6XkJSracSCd68 I think Ronnie Coleman has given multiple reasons for this inability to walk (genetics, training sessions, maybe what you are talking about here as well) on multiple occasions. This makes it hard to pinpoint the exact reason and an injury as big as this probably has many considerations and not just one.

I like to see balance not only as the opposite like hard and soft but also looking just on the one side like tension for an example. I have an intense practise almost every day but i like to add some other intense movements throughout the day. For my leg development i do jogging and split training as my intense work, but i also add in plyometrics training and an daily dragon squat routine. If all of this would be intense than there would be a big inbalance and it wouldnt work. So i do my plyometrics and dragon squats in an grease the groove manner, so i am able to train this on a regular bases without getting fatique. There is tension within the tension and it still works because there i an aspect of softness in it. Same with the internal practise. I do sitting meditation but i also do moving internal practices like tai chi and qi gong where there is tension in the softness practise and it works because the tension is being released consciously which also develops your awareness for your personal yin and yang in your life. Balance is an neverending life practise 🙏🏻

Yes, this is also an important part to explore as well. Both the macro and micro balance. Intra and inter practices.

Love your ideas, I would just add that balance is a process that is never ‘achieved’ so this kind of approach may be extremely frustrating for the people out there who only work explicitly goal oriented.
@TheTaoWay
@TheTaoWay Ай бұрын
Thank you! I agree as well. I mention not trying to strive for 'perfect' balance as I also don't think balanced is ever achieved. I do think that frustrations will arise regardless. As working on these areas will take you out of homeostasis and cause lots of discomfort.

all yep, i like told ppl many times, too much of yang/tension training, not enough yin/soft training, balance is balance, not the balance of time, just like the concept of DAO is DAO itself. Tao that can be described is not universal and eternal Tao 道可道非常道, ppl rarely truly understand

Great insights about Ying Yang as the opposing forces that are needed to bring life and balance to our living, comfort as the "unbalanced" point where we like to live in, and slow focused work as a way to bring more balance. They brought me understanding that everyone is in a different ying-yang point and need different focus and intensity. Thanks so much Antonio!!
@TheTaoWay
@TheTaoWay Ай бұрын
Excellent, Toni. Glad this video helped. What is interesting is that when we are the most unbalanced we may feel the most at ease. The comfort sets in and we may feel good. When we start to work on the other side of the coin we will get some internal push back. If this is approached in the right way/time then this push back is a sign you are moving in the right direction.

Looks amazing! May i ask what do the participants note down or is it sketching too? Is it instruction or self notes? Are they expected to keep a log or diary or optional? I guess this takes it from fun to the next level of productivity
@TheTaoWay

All of the above! For my personal students, I require all of them to keep a journal and use it daily. This journal starts very basic in the beginning (writing sets/reps/notes) but as the student becomes more advanced so does the note taking. A very important part of the learning process and practice. Reflecting, thinking, asking questions, reviewing, mapping, etc.

@@TheTaoWaythat makes perfect sense, thank you for your reply. I'll start doing this, I meant to keep a log but just couldn't think what to write, apart from tracking wall handstand sets, these days I don't even have sets and reps, i go to soft failure each time

Outward feet is safer on the knees. Your feet must follow the direction of thighs. It is bio-mechanics. Many things in E Asian martial arts are not good. The majority of martial art instructors have no clue as to basic exercise science and so teach many things wrong.

Cool video! What do you like about the rail practice? It seems to bee a movement culture-classic, but I've never really explored it.
@TheTaoWay
@TheTaoWay 2 ай бұрын
There is a lot here but I will stay away from the obvious and give some things I like about rail balancing that many may not think about. 1. Fear Development - fear of falling, fear of people staring at you / judging you, fear of exposure. 2. Working in the Environment - many who have some sort of physical practice often do their sessions indoors in a certain environment. This practice will force you to be outdoors in the elements. 3. Scouting - finding rails is necessary for this work. It will require you to explore your surroundings and find various rails around your community.

Definitely a slippery surface but for me it is important that I don’t blame the outside conditions but put the pressure on myself. I could have approached the work in a different way with better attention that would have made the surface/outside conditions not an issue. Something for me to reflect and work on daily.

A difficult thing to do when we are in the middle a “bad” situation. We must prepare for it when we are in the “good” situation
