You keep bringing up 4yo Soda Crab and it seems to be in a way of "4yo Soda Crab could beat this! Ew!" But isn't it awesome there were games they could beat? I guess I just don't really get the point of this argument? Like FE is a simple game compared to some other strategy games, does that make FE less "worth it?"

You have to take into account the type match up, abilities aswell, base stat distribution(Evs don’t matter too much in story)and potential critical hits. There is also taking into account ai behavior and optimizing your play with that in mind. There is also prefight planning.

I love Shadow Dragon because I feel it so cruel and raw, not in a bad sense, almost like Getting Over It but in Fire Emblem, a game that doesn't care about Daros dying turn 1 or allowing you to Matthis Bishop, or even losing Jagen in chapter 1 because of a 1% crit, I really love this game because in some way it doesn't care about your feelings "Oh you lost Cain to a 2% crit don't worry we have Roshea!"

Good video. I only played Gen 1 and 2 as a kid, aside from some spinoffs, and then only got back in at Gen 8. Yeah... That was a disappointment. Gen 9 is a little better but also very lacking. Arceus, despite looking horrific, is really fun. The gameplay loop is addicting and I eventually got used to the muddy look. I never played Gen 4 but the remakes art style turned me off from the start so I never even bought it.
