Thank you for the thoughtful video! It is winter now and I'm working on cleaning some "pegmatite soup" specimens. Years ago I got a piece from Brazil that is a botryoidal blue agate with well formed quartz crystals on top. The crystals have a lot of a white feldspar on them. I've considered using muriatic acid. I'm going to soak the specimen in a low percentage solution for a while and see where it goes. I've subscribed- Thanks!

Chlorine gas is given off. Do not breath fumes The gas is still very acidic and will burn skin.

What you think about digging them rivers and creek channels deep enough to handle a flood like that or do you condemn the flood plain what’s best for everyone
@HighCountryRocks29 күн бұрын
It needs to be done ans has been started on small creeks.

WNC is one of my favorite places in the world to be. This is just heartbreaking to see. What are some organizations I can volunteer with to help with cleanup?

I will start listing and linking organizations in the description. MOUNTAN STRONG is my first recommendation.

When we moved the WNC in the early 90s we thought the same thing. Now, 3 of the homes we looked at are no longer there. It is now obvious the risk, like living beach front.
