The box truck build is really taking off now ppl have realised you get twice the space for half the price of a van. Its WAY less risk than regular houses are nowadays. No mortgage and a large enough space your not going to out grow because its simply to small for full time living. The biggest benefit is the 2000+ watts of solar you can fit on the roof. Been in my box truck 5 years now and have already paid it off with all the money not wasted on rent and saving money. One of the main benefits to me was not having to do it to code, it easily saved me 20 grand.

Absolutely stunning! I’d like to know how you did that decorative fencing on the roof.

Thanks! I just piped the design onto parchment paper, let it dry, then carefully peeled it off and stuck it to the roof. It’s suuuuper fragile though, I broke quite a few!

Yes! I just made a hole in the back wall and put the lights through there. And used fairy lights that have a remote control!

I would like to see more of your design & build process as well as the reasons for your choices. I have enjoyed what I have seen so far. I have an old Mercedes flatbed truck and will be turning it into a traveling studio and home. I have watched many videos on tiny house trucks, good, bad and indifferent. I hope to learn from your journey. I appreciate your design/architectural background. Its refreshing to see a house/truck designed by a visual thinker.

I made one out of cardboard last year, with icing. I added a cardboard floor and hole in the roof to put cookies inside, because no one in my family likes to eat ginger bread. It looked like real gingerbread, plus, the floor meant I could still put lights in it. I'm working on this year's house right now and taking some inspiration from yours!

@@thewonderingmind The only downside, is sometimes picking a candy off, will take some cardboard with the hardened icing. Just a warning if anyone tries it.

Hi!! So I didn’t use any particular method-I left them on my dashboard in my car for about a week in the sun, it was pretty hot so the sun dried them out :) I know some people do other methods but that worked fine for me! Then just composted them at the end of the season

Thank you for sharing your experience. I recently made the sudden decision to step away from my IT career and pursue something different. I decided I didn’t want to hold on to my job because of all the comforts it provided outside of work. The pay was great along with benefits but I realized those were the only things I liked about my job. I want a simple life and just want to see what else is out there without being burdened by my day job. All the best to you.
