I operated the 977 for R.H.S. LEE trucking of pearl city oahu HI. From 1990 to 2006. We demolished buildings then loaded his semis with that loader. It had a Peterson demolition bucket that would hold big loads. He also had some with 4 in 1 buckets that we used to load trucks and help grade lots. The 977 can do many jobs. It's all up to the skill of the operator.

@THEBULLETPROOFGARAGE hi Scott. I lived in ewa Beach then pearl city. I could look right down into the valley where the company was located. I would go into the office and Mr. Lee would tell me what jobsite I would be working at that day. He had jobs all over the island. I'm retired now, but I really enjoyed running his equipment. He would buy the older equipment and fix them and his operators would run them..operating heavy equipment is a real joy. And for good pay.

Thank you for the great video,I just went through the same thing,my neighbor loaned me the exact transmission jack you have and I pulled the trans out and even with the car as high as I could get it the trans wouldn't clear the exhaust so I thought I was going to have to remove the trans from the jack (would have been fun!) but then I realized all I had to do was tilt the front of the trans down with the jack adjustment.We always seem to overlook the obvious.

You’re a good man Scott, that little guy just wants to live its life. I live in rural North Florida and saw a timber rattler on the side of my house and caught him with a storage container inverted over him and got the lid on and got him in the back of my truck and took him way way out into a very desolate area and let him go. Like your 8N videos too. I’m working on my old front distributor 8N that I call old Cranky. No serial number on the block and I read that these were replacement engines.

I'm no Cat expert, but I am a farmer and logger and have run and fixed a lot of old iron. Right there you have a pretty heavy duty hydraulic jack to get the front end free and clear a couple of feet off the ground and run some railroad ties or steel I beams right through just a bit off center front to back. Then just ease her down off the loader bucket and let her set on the beams with the track a few inches off the ground. Not ideal, but a field fix, so you can get the track apart and laid out and start unbolting the rest...worst case just clock her up and dig out under the track to get some airspace. At least dirt digs, concrete is hard to shovel out. If you get the drive off and apart, you may be able to have shafts, gears, etc built up and remachined at a machine shop cheaper than buying new at Cat dealer. or find a scrap drive and get the parts you need. But I'm just a farmer.
@THEBULLETPROOFGARAGE29 күн бұрын
Well, it's on concrete now; I moved it to my new shop several days ago. I'll post up a video soon with details. I think I'm going to need a complete used final; either use as-is or scavenge parts from it. Thanks for the input, Scott
