Delete the tones on the UV 5R and the 888s. You can have the same tones on the both if you really want to but it is complicating matter for you. You really don’t need them for PMR.

To anyone interested. If you want to be able to transmit from the UV-5R to the BF888s, I just came across this short. I did the programming in chirp first following this video and then I held down the 3 buttons in the short and turned it on so the screen says 'FACTORY'.
