When they are discussing the Africans wanting to bleach their hair and want to “be like the African Americans” I’m surprised they don’t name directly (or maybe don’t even realize that it’s because of how insidious yt supremacy is and how ingrained into culture it becomes to try to meet yt beauty standards. She did state the impact of colonialism so that’s appreciated.

With AI, the most interesting thing I find is how it actually revert us back to ourselves. By thinking in terms of its greatness (more intelligent then us, more capable etc..) it pops the question what humans think they are lacking exactly that need to be supplemented. In the contrary, when humans express their fears concerning AI, it highlights their own insecurities about their potential lacks (of understanding, of keeping up, of being in the race with a super machine). So I always want to ask: what do you feel about AI and most importantly why do you think you feel that?

What is really interesting is that people think they should have a parter to get something from them. Some sort of satisfaction that they are incapable to create for themselves. But that is off course impossible, because if you cannot even create it for yourself, how on earth a random person would be able to create it for you? Hence the disappointment. Telling the story a different way, considering the other as someone who might help you learn something about yourself and by doing so, allowing you to create it for yourself and visa-versa would be way more respectful and fruitful, with much less disappointment and way more appreciation.

I am Irish American. I am so glad that Ireland has stood up and supported a PALESTINIAN STATE. The Irish know what ethnic cleansing and genocide is. The I.R.A . supported the P.L.O. and Arafat for many years. So have the Indigious people of Ametica. ❤️🙏🙏❤️

I feel like all three of them support ozempic use and that's really dissapointing... they didn't even mention how morally wrong it is to use ozempic only for purpose of weight loss, there are people whose lives literally depends on this drug because they have diabetes and they can't get it because of rich and out of touch people like them. My collague who has diabetes couldn't get it for months because there was shortage of ozempic. This whole conversation was really out of touch.

This podcast is typically fascinating. What stood out most in this episode for me was actually how frequently Simon Sinek interrupts people to assert his ideas. As a white man myself, this feels very disrespectful and dismissive of significant cultural and historical context to the reality of what he represents. I cringed when he spoke about his experience in Kenya. I am not dismissing that was his experience, but it seemed out of touch with the context in which he was sharing it. It also didn’t answer the question. I think he could learn to be more humble and curious, like Trevor. Christiana brought up a lot of valid points that felt dismissed. This was a missed opportunity for Simon to lean into curiosity and humility. It felt like he had a personal and urgent need to justify his perspective about work. It should not be lost on him that he is a white man of European heritage essentially telling a woman of African heritage about meaning at work and the importance of service. I may have misinterpreted but I sensed some lip biting on Christiana’s part. I wondered what more she may have said had she not been dismissed. I think all parties had valuable perspectives and points and I appreciated the lively discussion. I also hope Simon reflects on some of his own issues going on unconsciously during this conversation, sits with them, and makes this an opportunity to learn and grow.

I would support the designated day of rest, with one caveat. People who don’t want to rest on that day would need to fill out a 2000 word handwritten essay on why they don’t. Then they would upload the essay to the Internet. If the consensus was in favor, they would be able to work on that day. However, they would have to travel to a designated workspace and provide all of their own supplies. They would also have to sign a legally binding waiver, stating that they took legal responsibility for any and all issues that came up in the workspace on that day. There would be no police, fire, or paramedic responses available to them outside of what they personally provide.

This is an important conversation. The world needs a more ethical, transparent, democratic and inclusive form of a capitalism, which is based on long term value and considers both human, organisational as well as societal and ecological value.

I do think gossiping is oral history and I don't agree that when recounting history you don't have to look pver your shoulder. I think gossiping is a form of oral history where the speaker is aware that there could be some form of pushback/there are safety concerns. So yes, it can be salacious in the way a story is conveyed, but that's just a way to tell stories to get others to listen.

Simon ended this so well....and then she said you should take me to see 😶‍🌫️ Uhmmm, I just watched the Simon podcast and I loved how the two shared their insights, she definitely disrupted the flow (sorry love). Perhaps sometimes listen to understand without responding from a fixed thought brings clarity. I think men and women should have separate shows, I'll enjoy her on something else, bcoz i just think with women at some point it becomes emotional. But overall love the insights✨

I'm not able to take Simon seriously after saying the issues with capitalism started in the 80s under this "new version". Thinking of slavery and the industrial revolution alone I'm more than confused about how he could come up with this conclusion. And understanding how the majority of our labor laws have been formed over the past few hundred years...this is not new.

Though there’s much to be said on this I do think time allotted is a huge factor. For the most part you give 40hrs. of work time compared to a one day a week religious meeting or even a meal that’s 1-2 hours will not allow you as much of a chance to really get to know someone..
