@DrVstrom Just tried it no change. I probably need to shorten it in consult with a welding shop. The lower height due to adding adjustable lower links messes up it's approach angle to pavement. If a strong helper is available, they assist by pulling up on R side pillion handle up she goes. I'm mainly thinking about being on read alone & tire change needed or lift to lube chain - I think the latter being a daily task on long tours ? (Do you agree !)

Are you referring to lubing your chain daily? If so, its not necessary. Just make sure that you apply lube after the chain is warm from riding. Then you can lube periodically.

Can I ask why would you lower the 650? I would lift it for more off-road capability, but it's too expensive to do it.

​​@@kayvak7267 I'm not the Original Poster, but I lowered my 2008 V-Strom 650 by 1.75". The reason ? Bike was too tall for my liking - I'm 5'10" with a 30" inseam and with it's relatively high seat height it was impossible for me to flat foot hold the bike, I was on tip toes on both sides at a stop. If one is 32" + inseam it's probably just fine stock.

Hello. Thanks for the kind words. If you are referring to the oil filter, I tend to change it with every oil change. It holds around 400 ml of oil which if you not change you will have old oil also. Its not the end of the world but if you can afford it, change it also. Hope this helps. Ride safe

So then it depends on how often you drive off road. If not, no. Just clean it with a brush and with air but from the right side.

Hello, I do not know how old your 650 is. Generally, even new tires can be deformed under hard breaking. Of course another reason is the wheels and how balanced they are, so go and also check these. If you have spoked wheels and someone played with the spokes, it can make a big change or if the weights on spoked or non-spoked wheels are not right. Last but not least check your steering stem and the back wheel alignment when you adjust your chain. Let me know how it goes. Ride safe.

Yes, it does not work. The system is universal for cars but motorcycles are different.

Its a simple adapter. It does not say how many Watts. The first is the model number.

When you buy Givi cases you have the option to use the same key for all. I would not recommend to use the moto key for cases.

The key can bent with use and it also has immobilizer in newer models. Opening 3 times the locks wears 3 times the key more. Just a suggestion

Thank you :). No need to put oil in the filter. Have been doing it like that for years. Suzuki also has the same process. The oil pathways are so thin that some oil is always left there assuming the motorcycle has been used recently so don't worry too much. Ride safe.

There are vibrations on the right wrist (also in the 650) when you ride longer than 1 hour and some fingers will get numb. Not a biggie and there is also cruise control aftermarket. The 800RE is the balance between the 650 and the 1050. I personally love it. Its not perfect but i m happy with it and its a great improvement on the 650. Ride safe

@@DrVstromJust brought my new Vstrom 800 home last week & so far loving it. Added the oem handguards from my son’s 800 DE. He installed bark busters. I just installed the higher screen but haven’t ridden yet to see if it makes a difference. Thanks for your videos. 😊

Thanks for sharing. You can try to remove it. In any case always use a torque wrench. I will also suggest other reusable washers that do not fuse, in a future video. Thanks a lot for the feedback. I purchased Suzuki OEM drain plug and 10 crush washers on eBay yesterday. I will try to remove the washer next time I change oil but if this doesn't work I will use the new plug. I used a torque wrench for the filter and plug yesterday. The old filter got stuck in the socket so I had to knock it out with a big-ass wrench and rubber hammer. I put a little bit of grease on the socket when tightening the new filter and was able to remove the socket without any issues. Today is a beautiful day but instead of going for a ride I had to go to the Niagara Falls with my wife and kids, lol. We'll be walking across a bridge to Canada now. If you're ever going to visit this area please let me know and I will show you around. It's not as picturesque as Greece but they're still places worth seeing. And there is a town called Greece nearby, lol.
