It's not the best diecast of the year, it's the best livery of the year. Nobody is buying Roxy for the actual casting, unless you're in to Porsche and or Mini gt.

Hot Wheels decals are so low resolution while Mini GT and other brands decals are so crisp and sharp. For the price, of course Hot Wheels are lower hence the quality and details and lower. Also forgot to mention, scalpers. Maybe won't able to find one models that you want or even have to get "sets" or even "cases" for that. But for the satisfaction of holding one on your hands with so much details it's priceless. I am slowly transition to better details 1/64 diecast like Mini GT, Kaido House and others.
@Ezzy19892 сағат бұрын
While i love mini gt models and their details, my perception has always been that their models are more 'fragile'. Hotwheels have always been built for robustness in mind. I know I'd be less stressed out if my kid suddenly grabs a hold of my hot wheels as compared to my mini gt models. Just look at the spoiler - yes minigt is more detailed and accurate but it looks like it will break by just sneezing at it haha. But the details are still fantastic though, admittedly!

Mini GT is just a downgrade version of Team Caliber who made NASCAR’s in the early 2000’s. Exactly why I laugh at people who collect Mini GT. They’re fragile as an egg, I can shoot hotwheels out of a cannon and still play with them after.

Hotwheels feed the ugly side of human nature of exclusive possession and are really just a totem to hoard for deeply dissatisfied people.Quality over quantity,Mini GT are really great for the price and i have a feeling they will be ruined in the near future when the hoards catch on to what a great deal they are.
@kinocorner9769 минут бұрын
They are already a ruined brand. Everyone who collects Mini GT are self absorbed douches. Wait…? People like you and this mouth breather in the video. Taking some moral high ground. Brother, they’re diecast cars. Toys. Not everyone who collects Hot Wheels go after expensive exclusives. The few annoying scalpers don’t mean the entire community does it. People mod hotwheels, paint them, track them. I’m sure you’re gonna rip open your Mini GT and race them, huh? No. Many people I know enjoy their hot wheels and even have tracks. I’m one. What will you do with your Mini GTs? Exactly what the “hordes” of unsatisfied people will do, you’ll toss them in blister protectors and stare at them like the goblin you are. You’re gollum and mini GT is your ring. Meanwhile, I’m gonna see if my Night shifter can beat my fast fish on my custom made track. I’ll definitely be “dissatisfied” while this happens too. You can keep your “quality,” I’m gonna enjoy my quantity.

I love your videos man. You have one hell of a great sense of humor and you are quite entertaining. That all said, I’ll never switch from HW’s. I’m in too deep man. Over 500 premiums collected over 18 years. I 100% agree though that you simply MUST be selective. You really MUST specialize or you’ll end up with tons of crap you no longer want and cannot get rid of besides using the trash can. I only collect REAL premiums with Real Riders. Not this silver line junk. Also, I only collect U.S. muscle and U.S. pickups. And even then I have almost 500 releases I’m still trying to catch up on going back to the mid to late 90’s!!! Lastly, I strongly suggest knowing what your display style will eventually be. (I use and recommend wall cases.) Otherwise, you’ll end up with boxes upon boxes of cars in the closet, under the bed, or in the cellar or attic. If that’s your case then you must ask yourself, what was/is the point? If you cannot look at them and enjoy them on demand then you will almost certainly lose interest and/or just burn out. That’s my two cents. Thanks for your videos. I appreciate them and your content is getting more and more known and liked by fellow collectors.

💯 …. and the word on Mini GT is getting out, which is only driving the prices higher. Unlike HW’s they can also be truly limited with production numbers in the low four digits. Currently, HW’s are enjoying all time high prices but I’m seeing those values starting to decrease on the way back to earth. Mini GT is bucking the trend and seems to be steadily increasing on the secondary market. It’s niche but they’re rocking that JDM fanboy base like a cash cow.

I have been collecting air raid sirens for a number of years now (mostly small ones), and I'm up to 17 if my most recent count is correct. In the beginning, collecting them to put on a shelf for years was fun, especially when I had the rare chance to set one off. The prospect of getting more and more is becoming ever so prevalent, especially as I acquire duplicates. Thankfully the monotony has changed as I have the means to take them apart for a restoration, but once complete they just sit on the shelf like other toys or knick-knacks. Sadder still you can't really "play" with them too often unless you want the cops called. At the same time, part of my drive comes from seeing peers in our "country club" who have many more large sirens than I, and those even more uncommon. That just further drives my desire to get more and more, at the distress of my wallet!

This is not true. If i collect to resale i wouldn't have a collection. Now if my collection gets to be "too much" then i might consider letting something go on eBay. Scalpers are retarded because those of us who want to collect can collect at original purchase value cant. We have to wait three paychecks to get it. Its ridiculous. I say they should put hot wheels in randomly closed packages but have just the different manufacturers from countries or the theam not the actual car its self showing.

1) I buy cars because I either like model or livery, and they, mainlines, cost too much as of late 2) I have lost who knows how many through infancy and adolescence, and with the direction it's taking I do prefer to lose them rather than sell them 3) even without race tracks I still do play with these cars, since they are toys, and despite me first being someone unwilling to share even a crumb of bread I do believe your child has the civil right to murder you if you bring toys to be kept out of range

I have collected several things in my life including Hot Wheels, beer cans, coins, football cards, Richie Rich comic books, Tonka Toy and Harley Davidson Christmas ornaments. Probably a few other things as well. It's just introverted fun when a new item gets added to the collection. Never took it too seriously.

Its a hobby. A past-time. The same can be said for anything anyone is interested in. Take golf for example. So much money and time is spent chasing a tiny ball around. Some people play it so regularly and to the extreme it makes them miserable. What's the point in that? Basically, enjoy your life. If your hobby is not harming you or others. Then enjoy it. Share it. Spread it. Find your community. Life is hard enough.

There’s different parts of the collecting process that is enjoyable. The hunt, obtaining, playing, displaying, building, modeling, posing, creating content. I find that not allowing myself to have everything keeps the fun. I’m not a completionist. Because the last thing I want is become a hoarder. Allowing myself to curate my collection and diversify it enough like a portfolio is fun to me. While I could finish the set, if part of it brings me no joy I don’t want it. Because completing the set is not fun for me and that’s ok. I see my various collections as investments. Not just financially (either because of what it’s worth, what I paid, or emotionally what it means to me). On my high shelf I could have a mix of any of those 3. I see my room as a museum of me, my interests, my passions. Curating a space that is safe and that I enjoy is what I do. Every year I look around and make cuts. Sometimes you have to let go and move on. Make room for something new. And that’s ok. You enjoyed it for the time you did and now it’s time to move on. Sometimes you put away other times you sell. It’s part of the fun!

I prefer older mainlines, the older the better, the most common cars I can found here (other than modern mainlines ofc) are from the 2000s, 1998 and 1999 is a little bit rare, 1997 to 1995 is rare to 1994 is really rare. I don't focus on supercars or anything, if I like the look of the car i am buying it. I have a casting from 1999 with it's card actually If I ever find an $uper, I'll get hyped, I buy it, I bring it home, I crack it open, I look at it, i get bored, I put it in the card, I hang it on my wall and let it collect dust.

Are you a momo? Those toys are to shut up the kids. As for collecting all of those material things, that's a hobby for those who want to relive their childhood memories through nostalgia.
@Lar.Real.Diecast3 күн бұрын
Whats a momo?
@anthonyflabi48543 күн бұрын
@Lar.Real.Diecast Haha 😄 It's Italian. It means (idiot). It was meant as a light jab. I honestly didn't think you were going to like my comment. I'm 45, and I still embrace toys from my childhood. It goes deeper than just nostalgia. I don't feel anywhere near as happy with my adulthood as I did during my childhood. I find myself struggling with keeping up with the times. This goes far beyond just toys. This also involves (music, games, movies, human interaction, and so on). I find myself missing what I had back in the 20th century compared to what we have in 21st century. I miss the simplicity of the past versus the complexity of the present. So, in a way, I do see where you are coming from in the video. I understand the dilemma of collecting. Being one of those who collects toys, I am someone who understands why there are people in the world who do keep or repurchase childhood toys. I am also someone who is always at war with myself on why I can not simply let go of my past and live in the present in order to embrace a future I was probably meant to have. The only thing I can think of is that I am scared of growing up. As a kid, I had a complete family under one roof. Now, my family is fractured.

@anthonyflabi48543 күн бұрын
@Lar.Real.Diecast No, I totally understand where you're coming from. There are a couple of ways this video could be interpreted. The way I took it at the time was (Why are these toys even made in the first place, and why do we buy them?) That's one way. The other way is (Why, as adults, do we buy toys for ourselves and keep them either in their packaging or open them up and display them in the open for all to see.) Me, I'm not exactly a collector. I don't care about having every single (TMNT, Transformers, Ghostbusters, etc). I'm mainly into what I grew up with. And, yes, I have gone back and forth on debating with myself on whether or not I should part myself away from these attachments. I feel like I'm going insane sometimes. I appreciate that you are cool with my original post. It was out of line on my part, but I am pleased that you are cool about the whole (momo) thing.

Others will say that its childish but those things makes you happy your not bothering anyone because some of those people even admire them even if they say that. But yeah it once hit me one time when I look at my collection and said to myself now what? Then I thought I love posing my action figures so That's when I was introduced to a new hobby and thats Toy Photography. Im not great with it but it feel awesome when I look at the pictures and share them on social media. There is more to life than just existing. It’s important to find things that bring you joy and purpose. Hobbies are a great way to spend time on something you enjoy where the main purpose is enjoyment. It becomes problematic when it is used as a substitute for addressing real life issues in your life. Why has the hobby been reduced to the dopamine hit? Followed by the low afterwards that lingers for longer and longer. The problem isn’t collecting or hobbying it is what you are using it to avoid addressing in a meaningful way.
