All i can say is THANK YOU, cuz due to your overinflated hype on hotwheels and it´s shiet, I got impossible deals with great and REALLY rare models that you´ll never, probably, never know they exist.

You should switch to Tomica! I am from Malaysia and gave up on Hot Wheels and now i changed to Tomica and I never go back to HWheels!

I really wanted that pandemic set. I haven’t bought a premium diorama since the white skyline series. But when I saw the price tag on the shelf I was blown away. These dioramas are **$30.00** freakin dollars now. Couldn’t do it. So I left all of the sets there and just bought the 240Z I wanted from eBay for $9. I know inflation is crazy and groceries have gotten ridiculously expensive but now it’s even HOT WHEELS?! Damn it’s rough in 2024.

Hey. Watched your another video. Yup it is definitely pre-scalped even the pegs were on display unit. I cant even find normal regular cars in TRU. Let alone those JDM and muscle cars. Just can't hunt those on retails

This is the reason why I decided to quit hunting for Hot Wheels as a Malaysian. I used to collect Hot Wheels since childhood but sold almost all my Hot Wheels collection several years ago. I still collect diecasts here and there but no longer confined to Hot Wheels. Recently I started to buy more and more Tomica Premiums instead. I just finished my little Skyline GTR collection with Tomica Premium which I can find online at very reasonable prices. I also got several Tomica Premium NSXs and RX7s at very reasonable prices with almost no markups. I can't imagine how much more expensive if my collection is Hot Wheels branded instead of Tomica.

@@Lar.Real.Diecast Yes, Tomica collecting is much more relaxing compared to Hot Wheels. Its very ironic that despite being made in Penang Malaysia, a Malaysian like me prefers to collect Tomica which is made in Vietnam instead. Goes to show how badly Mattel screwed up the market. One thing I appreciate about Tomica Premium is when they put a model in production, usually they keep producing it for years. Meanwhile Hot Wheels Premiums comes in waves and in very limited numbers. Take for example the Tomica Premium 01 Nissan Skyline Turbo Super Silhouette, this model is gorgeous and it's in been production for years, that is why the prices stays low. Meanwhile Hot Wheel's LBWK Skyline ER34 is scalped to stratosphere because of how limited it is. Mattel knows how desired that model is and they could have made more of it like Tomica, but they didn't, and it ended up basically a scalped vaporware that you would never ever see it on store shelves/pegs.

The worst part about collecting Hot Wheels is that u cant find what u wanted, like highly sought after cars (examples, Supra, Bolide, Chiron, basically real life cars)

The only thing we can do as community is dont buy more than 100% of profit for any mainline cars , and try to trade mostly. It's absolutely absurd to pay rm60 rm50 for a mainline when you have more detailed mini gt and stuffs. The collectors must be serious about it. Most of the scalpers don't even collect them.

We don’t have much tomica in my town but one thing is the same is hot wheels being took before they hit shelves by employees. It’s getting frustrating looking for nothing a waste of time

Tomica has a sick inventory of well detailed castings…I have 5 or 6 …maybe more…not quite 10…but my only issue in the states especially where I live…there are no retail stores that carry those bad boys…at least, not now…Target had a few years ago because the parent company had success with their other brand Majorette !

Yeah i kinda agree the fact that Hot Wheels nowadays in Toys R Us Malaysia especially are getting more and more lame. Scalpers are always there and available during times where they place the newer cars. Their target is always to buy them and resell for ridiculous prices, whereas some people aren't even able to buy the cars for their collection / to review / to showcase. This is one of the reasons why diecast collectors are relying on brands such as Tomica, Mini GT, Tarmac Works, Inno 64 and many others.

@@Lar.Real.Diecast Tomica targets collectors from Asia the most. But some cars from the US are not easy to find here in Malaysia such as Greenlight and Auto World. That's why i barely purchase Hot Wheels/Matchbox nowadays
