but what to do if my fuval fx2 external filter is making sloshing sound,It runs fine and there's no microbubbles,but every hour or two i have trapped air inside the canister,it seems that the trapped air might be a result of cavitation. My inlet hose is shorter,thats what fluval said to do,i checked place where the intake connected with the hose,it is under the water so it doesn't sucking air,it has to be under the water line and it is. i checked filter media,even try to remove half of it so i have normal flow,that also did't helped,in hour or two it sound like dishwasher,sloshing sound in the filter. I lubed o rings with fluval silicone lubricant,nothing. i even made sure the connections are the below water line,same thing I checked connection between hoses and filter.. I checked the lid seal...and lubricate i even tried prime the filter when output hoses were above the water line. tried remove and rinsed out sponges,maybe they have trapped air..nothing,same thing, didn’t seem to make a difference. There's no kinks in hose,they are short cut to the minimum length,checked are they ok,does inlet hose has something so it can suck air..no. I tried to refill with water to the top,then turn on the IN valve first,then waited a few seconds and turn on the other. Shook the canister and it burpped air,but in the hour time somehow i have air inside . the problem is cavitation,something is defective with this filter? so..what ever i do in some short time it will somehow make air inside,the only thing what can make air inside the filter is cavitation impeller. Checked impeller,it looks like new to me,no cracking,can't see anything

Can’t say that I trust canister filters. I’ve been running HOBs on my 180 and 125. Been watching your channel for a while and think it’s finally time to upgrade to the fx6/4. You are always dropping that knowledge. 👍🏾
@KaveManAquatics4 ай бұрын
I promise once you upgrade to a canister you'll see there was nothing to worry about 😁 When you do try it, I would still run my HOB together with the new canister for at least 2 weeks to help seed the new media 😁🤙

I use the aqueon canister filter, it’s a hybrid, both canister and HOB. The outlet hooks up to two HOB filters for even more filtration. And if you don’t wanna do that you can switch the the standard canister outlet that comes with the filter.

For three years, I have the Fluval 307 canister filter I have not had no problems with it. A awesome filter.

There's no way an fx2 can handle a 100g tank. As soon as you get to a 75g you need the big fx6. That's because the info on box is misleading. The fx6 pump says it's capable of 900gph but that's only for strength of the pump. Once media and everything is in there and the hoses are hanging several feet up we know the real gph is only 563gph. Which is totally needed for just average filtration on a 75g. So the fx2 and fx4 seem like they would almost never have a place. And so when you do truly get into big tanks you would need 2 fx6 on a 125g, 3 on a 180g. And bigger than that? We would hope that fluval would make an fx12 by that point. Lol

I use a fluval 307 canister on a 60 gallon 🤌🏻 absolutely amazing once the tank is established

I made a mistake years ago. I left to much slack in the hoses. It makes the motor work harder. When theres to much slack or loops. 👋. Now my hoses are tight. No slack or loops

100% correct!!! 💪
@billwooten52634 ай бұрын
@@mikejejenich-pb5zx The slack creates no difference. The pump motor is rated for the full length of the hose to be used on larger tanks. A few inches of piping won't create any meaningful back pressure. -Master Plumber of 15 years -Avid fish keeper for 20 years

I have a 55 gallon tank with the Fluval 307. So glad I switched to a canister from a hang on the back. So much quieter.

Do you struggle big time with the two hose clips? Taking them off is a nightmare...I think Fluval designed it without big tanks in mind honestly
@KaveManAquatics4 ай бұрын
I don't. Theres a "rolling" technique to getting them on and off. I've made videos before about it, but will make sure to show it again in the next video installing it to the tank 😁💪

Those hose clamps are not big enough for big tanks. They didn’t fit my rim. So i had to go home depot to buy clamps 👋

just remove the red trays and you’ll fit more media. It’s too small though stick to the fx 6.

Hellow my tank is cycle by this product seachem prime/stability and add this one pristine . Ahm my question is Should I make them maintain once a week, all please give me the right idea or formula to use this 3 product of seachem for maintenance, thanks?
@KaveManAquatics4 ай бұрын
After your tank cycles you only need Prime during water changes. Stability is no longer needed unless you add new fish or do big filter cleanings.
