I got a new toilet and the plumber told me I should caulk it after he left. Does that make any sense at all to anyone?

Push connect is fine, as long as there is absolutely no tension applied to the fitting… like a braided hose weighing it down.

In Texas this would not have passed even at the time this video was uploaded. Everything is good but you would need an atmospheric relief valve 6” above the water heater and would have to run the 1” drain of the pan outside as well. But that is Texas, I’m not sure how it is in other states.

Hey boy its about time you repair something instead of replacing stuff. Back in my day stuff was built to last. Errrrr the next guy isnt going to be able to remove that if you caulk it like that. Another great video sir. :)

I HAVE a mechanical plug but why? Ill shove a rag sown there if I think I'm going to make a mess or its going to be a while. (But honestly im usually more put off by the stink of the customers house than the sewer line 😅) Keep up the great work brother! 👍

As a repairman, myself, not a plumber, I also use push fittings for water supply lines for appliances, etc., but I think this is more of an issue of protecting the business owner from all possibilities. Push on fittings probably do not fail as much as people think they do, if at all, but it’s all about Protecting the repair. But if you own the property and doing your own work, by all means, I would definitely use my own push fittings.
