Sky High Sundae is not the worst track. There are so many other worse courses. The WORST course in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is hands down Baby Park.

I IMMEDIATELY knew Rosalina’s enemy in Mario Kart 7 would be Honey Bee Queen because I remember absolutely despising her. I had thought Rosalina’s other enemy would be Metal Mario though, not Toad.

I think Bowser being a lesser rival than Cranky is because of the whole Star Child thing. I wouldn't be surprised if there's an unspoken agreement that Bowser's *supposed* to kidnap Peach on the regular and it's an agreed-on outlet for his villainous destiny. There's no hard feelings because he literally cannot stray from it for too long. It's also why he's perfectly amiable when he's not being goaded on by literal destiny to the point of siding with the Bros. DK Jr. is NOT a Star Child, he's an outsider, and a reminder of Mario's less savoury past. There's a lot of personal tension between them. Bowser probably considers DK Junior a rival out of daring to distract HIS greatest rival, Mario.

Fun fact about the original mario kart for SNES (if i remember correct, so please correct me if im wrong): You can change your main rival, by making them lose a race. If you manage to make them place lower by for example shooting them with a shell close before the race finishes, they stay lower during the next game.

That explains why whenever I was playing Toad in MK7 why Peach and Rosa were always behind me for seemingly no reason Unfortunately the video doesn’t explain why Daisy was so I’ll just chalk it up to 3 princesses

Peach as a stand-in for Pauline actually has happened before in the Game & Watch Gallery Donkey Kong remakes in Game & Watch Gallery 2 and 4. It helps Pauline's original sprite design had her as a blonde in a pink dress, making Peach an easy match.

The games have gone back and forth on whether the current Donkey Kong is Cranky’s son (and therefore an adult version of Junior), his grandson (making him Junior’s son), or the same Donkey Kong from the original arcade game (meaning Cranky was never Donkey Kong). The movie made it clear he was Cranky’s son, so they’re probably going to go with that from now on. Though I think it’s worth noting that given the lifespan of a gorilla, if Junior did grow up to become Donkey Kong, at least 5 years would’ve had to have passed between the arcade games and the Country games. But if Junior is his father, it would have to be at least 13 years. Since Mario is canonically in his mid 20s, it would make more sense if Junior is DK because it would make Mario about 20 years old in the original Donkey Kong, whereas he would’ve been 12 if we went with the grandfather theory.

In the Mario Party 2 manual it’s stated that DK’s favorite item is the Bowser Bomb (which summons bowser to the board) because he wants to fight with bowser and that could be an in universe explanation to the two being rivals Mario and DK’s rivalry could stem from the Donkey Kong game boy color game and the Mario vs donkey Kong series which I think started around that time Peach and Luigi seemed to have a bit of a rivalry through out the series which has been shown in passing like in Wii’s opening cutscene
