Fun regular coin fact: 2D games tend to have oval coins while 3D games tend to have circular ones

20 coins do exist in Super Mario Maker 2, but it is exclusive to underground night theme, replacing the 50 coin. In Super Mario Galaxy, the ? coin can launch Mario really high into the air, but this feature was never used in any level. There is also the Sparkle Coin and 10-Sparkle Coin in Princess Peach Showtime, which can be used to buy new outfits.

You forgot to mention the variants of Mario Kart Tour's event tokens representing different characters that appear in the Mii Tour and the 15 different vs tours (the mario vs luigi tour for example). They function the same as the regular ones, exept for the fact that they can only be optained by using specific character.

I'm noticing you didn't get any footage of multiple coin types and just resorted to stock footage and trailers for the gameplay behind your coin .pngs. I would have liked to see examples of how "blue coins" differ between their appearance in Mario 3 and Mario 64 and Sunshine.

I was wondering why you didn't mention that the Mario Sunshine coins have a candle icon, but it turns out I misremembered and they're the regular "l" coins. I think that since the blue coins have a star and red coins have a sun in that game, my brain autofilled the smaller gold coins to have a smaller light source, hence the candle.

There's a ton of suits in Super mario world, due to the power up increment glitch. Essentially 256 colours. Although I guess there's only 4 realistically achievable

In the Game Boy game Wario Land (Super Mario Land 3), there is a coin with a plus sign on it that is worth ten coins. You could earn these from attacking certain enemies and defeating bosses. Moreover, you needed to pay them in order to open the exit door at the end of each level. I believe this was the first game to introduce a ten valued coin. Despite the variant and function of all of these coins, it sure is fun collecting them all!
