There are many misunderstandings about the Ingrians. In reality the Ingrians are three different Finnic peoples. 1. The Ingrian Finns - by far the biggest group, nowadays 50-70,000 in Finland, c. 19,000 left in russia, 7,500 in Estonia and 4-5,000 in Sweden - speak Ingrian dialect of Finnish language - Lutherans - mostly immigrated from Finnish Karelia and Savonia during the 1600's 2. The Izhorians - perhaps c.1,500 people left, half of them in Ukraine and the rest in russia and Estonia - speak Izhorian, a Baltic-Finnic language - Orthodox - indigenous people of Ingria 3. The Votians/Votes - only c. 100 people left, almost all in russia - speak Votic, a Baltic-Finnic language closer to Estonian than Finnish - Orthodox - indigenous people of Ingria

We took Camolin and Enniscorthy And Wexford storming drove out our foes 'Twas at Sliabh Coilte, our pikes were reeking With the crimson gore of the beaten Yeos. At Tubberneering and Ballyellis Full many a Hessian lay in his gore; Ah, Father Murphy, had aid come over The green flag floated from shore to shore!

I am Serbian, but I have researched a lot my father's side of the family. He didn't like to talk about his family, but the information I got indicate on a Tatar heritage. My surname means ''the son of Jacob'', but in father's village there are a dozen different families with this surname. It is more of a tribal surname. My grandfather had another surname, Jozupović, which means ''the son of Jozup''. This ''Jozup'' is a variation of the name ''Yusuf''. That area, the area around Mrkonjić Grad in Bosnia, is very different in the linguistic sense from the surrounding areas. Many words have switched vowels that make the more similar to the Turkish language. It is a linguistic enclave. Even the physical appearance of the people is a little bit different. For instance, mongoloid eyes are common in my family. I live in northern Serbia, where many Hungarians live, and sometimes people who don't know me think that I am Hungarian. They have also some mongoloid facial characteristics. My father was fascinated about the Mongols and Genghis Khan and he loved his white horse (We call that kind of horses ''zekan''.) and I am fascinated about all Altaic peoples, especially the Turks. I haven't made a DNA test, maybe some day, but I am pretty sure that I have some Tatar blood. We in Serbia have a saying ''Blood isn't water.''. It means that you inherit a lot from your ancestors. By the way, my nickname is Sultan and my father's was Uzeir. We both got them from our friends from the university. Many fateful coincidences, don't you think? Big support from your Serbian (or +Tatar) brother from the flats of Vojvodina (Northern Serbia; town Novi Kneževac or Turska (Turkish) Kanjiža)! I also have a wish to see Crimea and the rest of the Crimean Khanate. Wish you everithing money can't buy and those are health, happiness and love!
