Oops, I erred. Nine Eagles is 12 miles from Lamoni, we are 10 miles west of Lamoni! So we are 22 miles away from there.

I remember this day, It was spring and the ground was thawing.. I remember that night got really cold so I was thankful for that random wood burning stove as I was originally going to hammock camp. Thank God I didn’t because all my stuff would have been frozen without the stove

Small Claims Court - I'd do it. If they don't show up, the court makes a decision against them. Sounds to me like they are taking for you for a ride.

Watching this lovely restful video right before bedtime on Dec. 21. Just think, starting tomorrow, the days will be getting longer again!! 👍 Thanks for sharing Night 2 of your trip with us! For some reason it never occurred to me until seeing this video that one could sandbar camp in the winter in spots accessible on foot. This in spite of my having sandbar camped a zillion times in warm weather and getting there via canoe. Duh...talk about not thinking outside the box! I'll have to scout some sites. Most of what we have here in NE Iowa are rock bars instead of sandbars, so I may need to go south to the Turkey River to find a soft sandy place to camp. But I'm glad you put the idea in my head!! 😊

Great adventure. I have built a hot stove, but not been able to use it. I'm still torn with buying a hot tent and a proper stove. It's plastic near heat. What did you expect? LOL ✌👍

From what I know, it doesn't cost much to take them to a small claims court but there is a lot of red tape so it depends if $400 is worth all the hassle (but, if you win you usually get compensation for your time etc so you would get more than just 400 if you ask for it - sue them for an even $1000 or whatever! They are probably used to getting away with that because they know most people wont bother so I would do it just for that reason alone and then do a bad review about there crooked behavior on yellow pages etc, plus you get your deposit back! Revenge of this kind is sweet and they deserve every bit of it!!!

Great question Pat. It's not an actual blanket but it essentially acts as one and provides the same function. It's technically called a Hammock Under quilt. www.rei.com/product/180406/eno-ember-hammock-underquilt This one to be exact

The one I have now is really overkill given the height of the tent, and a shorter one would be easier for me to handle also. There's a 6' one for under $50 on Amazon. Hoping to do my first overnight between Christmas and New Year's. Highs are supposed to be in the 40s. Possible precip, which would be great because I LOVE the sound of rain on a tent!!

(just messing with ya) I been out most every week all summer long, just don't always film the adventure, but I do have a hot tent camp coming up and some truck bed camping spots/plans since it is not so hot out!!!
