🌲 Natural Fir Tip Soda Recipe ⬇️ Dear Dreamer, I caught a little dream... Did you know that you can make bubbly soda with just 3 ingredients at home? I didn't. It was a lot of fun making naturally carbonated soda with Fir tips from the forest. 🥰 So here's the recipe. Ingredients: - a handful of fir tips (some guidelines for the harvest are down below) - 1l of water - 3 tbs. of sugar Instructions: - harvest fresh fir, pine or spruce tips - give them a rinse. The tips contain wild yeast that is key to the fermentation and if you wash them too harshly the soda won't get as bubbly (or so I've read, but I made this soda twice and can confirm that it was more naturally carbonated when I didn't wash the tips as harshly) - put the fir tips in a bottle and fill it up with water, then add the sugar - close the bottle and give it a good shake, then place it in a sunny spot at your window - after 3-4 days there should be bubbles. Those are a sign of the fermentation process (careful when you open the bottle 🍾) ❗Don't drink this when you are pregnant! I've heard that it was used as a way to abort unwanted pregnancies! Guidelines for harvesting fir tips: - the fresh tips grow during May - make sure you harvest pine, fir, or spruce tips. There are poisonous evergreens out there so please do your research. Pine normally has very long needles, spruce is very stingy and fir has two white lines at the bottom side of the needles - ask for permission if you want to harvest them in a forest. - the best time to harvest the tips is when they just opened - make sure not to take the centre tips, but rather the ones on the left and right sides. Don't take from very young trees because they won't keep growing in that spot for up to two years. Also, don't take too many from one tree It tastes very peculiar 😂 probably better with lemon but still worth a try. I might catch this little dream again next year and experiment a little more. Let's catch another dream... 🪶 Love Lexi

🌲 I caught a little Dream..(again)⬇️ I made this Delicious Syrup a couple of years ago with spruce tips. I needed to refill my stash. This time I used fir tips. 🥰 This is not just a sweet treat but also a natural cough remedy. Ingredients - Fresh fir, pine, or spruce tips (careful there are poisonous needle trees out there so make sure to do your research. I also have a couple of suggestions and guidelines for harvesting down below 👇🏻) - 1 lemon - 1l of water - 500g of sugar Instructions: - give the fir tips a good wash and then add them and one liter of water to a pot and let it simmer for 30 minutes - let the mixture sit overnight covered with a lid or cloth (12-24 hours) then strain it through a cheesecloth - add the sugar and lemon juice - Cook it on medium heat. Make sure to stir regularly so the sugar won't burn. It takes around 30 minutes before the sugar starts to thicken. - To test the consistency of the syrup pour a few drops onto a cold plate. Once it's cooled down you can see (and feel) how thick the syrup would be. If you cook it too short the mixture will stay quite liquid (there is still a lot of water in it). If you cook it too long it will get solid like candy after it cooled down. So make sure to test it occasionally. - sterilize your jars and lids. The dishwasher is sufficient, but you can also put them in the oven at 120 Celsius degree for 15-20 Minutes. Make sure the jars don't touch each other. The lids can be boiled in hot water to sterilize them. - pour the syrup into the jars, close the lids, and flip the jar upside down for a couple of minutes - store the fir tip syrup in a cold and dark place. Mine lasted for a whole year. Once opened you might want to store it in the fridge. Instructions for harvesting - the fresh tips grow during May (at least in Germany where I live 🥰) - make sure you harvest pine, fir, or spruce tips. There are poisonous evergreens out there so make sure to do your research. Pine normally has very long needles, spruce is very stingy and fir has two white lines at the bottom side of the needles - Make sure to ask for permission if you want to harvest them in a forest. I was in luck. I found a cut-down tree that was left to rot - The best time to harvest the tips is when they are just about to open. - make sure not to take the centre ones, but rather the ones on the left and right sides. Don't take from very young trees because they won't keep growing in that spot for up to two years. Also, don't take too many from one tree If you have questions, feel free to ask 🥰 Let´s catch another Dream together.

What a beautiful story. I woke up this morning to find your video on my feed, somebody new to me. It really resonated with me. I've been chasing a dream for a few years now, its pieces slowly revealing themselves to me, while I struggle working in a job that isn't a good fit. But I need the income. Jobs aren't plentiful here and this is the best option from what's available. As I got ready for another day, this brought me a smile and a gentle way to start the day. I wish you well and hope you too have a peaceful day.

Dear Dreamer, thank you so much for reaching out and sharing some of your story 🥰. I can relate to your "struggles". Often we get impatient. Dreaming ourselves away to a happy future is very easy and does not take longer than a second. It can be frustrating once we return to reality where everything moves very slowly. I try to actively look for those little blessings of everyday life and celebrate all the little steps that bring me closer to my dreams. I do my best to fall in love with the "chase" of my dreams. 🥰 I wish you the best of luck for your own dream chase! 💚 Sending you lots of greetings from the black forest 🌲. Love Lexi

🌲 I caught a little Dream ⬇️ Let's make healthy dandelion potion 🧙 excuse me, juice 😉. Instructions - harvest fresh dandelion flowers and leaves and give everything a good wash - remove the petals from the dandelion flower (the easiest way for me was when the flower was completely closed. That happens overnight) - put the leaves/flower petals in a blender and mix them with water - strain through a cheese cloth - store the bottled juice in the fridge. Mine lasted 3 days It tasted very peculiar. The older the leaves are, the more bitter the juice apparently gets. So maybe I waited a little too long 🙈. But the yellow petal juice was rather tasty 😋. Let me know if you'll ever catch that little dream yourself. 🥰

🌲 I caught a little Dream...⬇️ These healthy and delicious energy balls with freshly harvested dandelion turned out so amazing, tasty and pretty 😋 Recipe (8 energy balls) Ingredients: a handful of dandelions 65g of almond butter 1 tbs. of honey 20g of oats 1 tbs. Psyllium husks or flaxseeds 4 tbs. of cocoa powder Instructions: -give the dandelions a good wash and then remove the petals from the dandelion flower (the easiest way for me was when the flower was closed) - chop a fourth or your dandelion petals in tiny pieces - combine all the ingredients in a bowl and knead till you have a smooth dough. If it is too sticky add more cocoa powder or oats - form little balls and roll them in the chopped dandelions - store the dandelion energy balls in the fridge (mine lasted a couple of days) or in the freezer. I loved them. It might have been a little peculiar to eat those flowers that have been part of my life for so very long, but those energy balls tasted really amazing! Let me know if you ever catch that little dream yourself 😉

Dear Lexi, Dreams come and go. They drift through our thoughts and our lives like the elusive scents of rare blooming flowers. They can't be forced, nor can they be predicted. They can only be embraced, briefly, before they slip away into the mists of the past, soon to be replaced by new dreams for us to pursue. Your videos are much the same. They come as you envision the dreams, collect them, and weave them into small tapestries of joy and beauty. Each one is an achievement, a delicate gift of balance...and we are grateful. One thing you shall never be, my friend, is forgettable 💞 It is wonderful to see you again! Sending much love, Marian 🇨🇦

Dear Marian, hello, my friend. It is really good to hear from you. Thank you for watching and your words of wisdom 🥰. I agree. Maybe I lost my big dream because I treated it as something that was mine to keep. But looking at all those potentials/little dreams as something that can be chased, caught, and cherished for a while until another one catches our eyes puts the focus back on what is truly important. The chase! Or in other words the journey of our lives. I hope you are well. I send you lots of love to the other side of the world. 🥰🌲 Lexi

I caught a little Dream... ⬇️ Let's make healthy and homemade Dandelion Powder for yogurt or smoothies. Instructions - harvest fresh dandelion leaves and give them a good wash - rub them as dry as possible with a towel - dry them in the oven at 40-50 Celsius degree till crisp. Make sure the oven door stays open so the moisture can escape. It can take quite a while. I tried to air dry the leaves but they won't get as crisp, so it is difficult to turn them into powder. Another option would be a dehydrator - motar the dried leaves till you have a powder, the finer the better. Make sure to remove the stems of the leaves. - sieve the powder and store it in an air-tight container It is a time and energy-consuming task. But I really enjoyed the process of it. So far I tried to use it as a matcha alternative. The powder was not fine enough even though it tasted fine. I will put it in my yogurt next 😋 Let me know if you ever catch this little dream yourself. 🥰

Dear Dreamer, thank you so much for these kind words 🥰 they put a huge smile on my face. It is a lesson we often tend to learn by letting things get too far out of hand. But when the lesson presents itself again, we might recognize it sooner. If I learned anything over the last couple of years then how important it is to take better care of myself. How to do just that are more lessons to explore 😊 I hope you have the most beautiful day! 🌲 Love Lexi

I have two main dreams. One is to really connect with people through my writing. I have been writing (mostly poetry) for 4 years now and just recently self-published my first poetry book and getting ready to release my second soon! I've been attending open-mics and submitting my work to exhibitions and stuff, and I've been loving it! The second is to be an amazing and inspiring teacher. I'm in college working toward a teaching degree and also working at a school to start getting experience, and it is so rewarding! Every day tests me so much, but nothing motivates me more than seeing the impact I can have on these young lives. Thank you so much for sharing your dreams and journey, and for helping inspire us to catch our own dreams :)

I wish you the best of luck. 🥰 I just watched your shorts and especially the words "you stand in a rain of compliments with an umbrella" really spoke to me. How often do we walk through our lives not letting compliments of people or the joy that a simple moment could bring touch us just because we never learned to expect good to come from the rain/from bad days? Thank you for these inspiring words. I hope you have a lovely day 🌲 Lexi

Dear Lexi, Just a quick note to say "Hello", my sweet friend. It is snowing heavily here today, and all the sounds are muted. It has been such an erratic winter...rain, mild weather to freezing cold, yet very little snow. I went for a long walk earlier, and it is strange to hear the Spring birdsong and to see the returning robins, who definitely appear somewhat bemused by the white wonderland all around them. Right now the beauty of the snowfall is giving me a feeling of coziness, as I watch the Sunday world go by outside my front window. By Tuesday it shall be warm and sunny again, but for now I will enjoy the moment. You popped into my mind, and I felt a need reach out. I hope this finds you well 💖 Cheers, with love... Marian 🇨🇦

Dear Marian, I read your little letter a month ago, right after you sent it, and as usual it put a smile on my face. But I told myself not to answer before I was good and ready. I had to take a break from social media and prioritize other areas of my life. It was all just too much at once so something had to give. And unfortunately, that was making videos. It was really hard to do especially because I had a guilty cautious, especially for disappearing without so much as a word. But it was necessary. I miss creating and hope to be back with new videos in May. But I have to find a more sustaining balance. I don't want to lose the joy of creating to the stress of performance. I made that mistake before. I hope you are well and that spring is showering you with lots of lovely gifts and moments like it does over here in the Black Forest. Lots of love Lexi

🌲 Lexi

Dear Lexi, Special things: A Spring visit to Quebec City, the only walled city in North America...stunning! Reconnecting with an old acquaintance after many years of separation. Finding a hidden stack of letters my father had written to my mother in the 1940's, before they were married... (both strange and wonderful!) Finally pulling out of a stretch of a mild depression I'd been struggling with for quite some time. Little things: Having our neighbour's wee kitty stay with us periodically throughout the year while they were traveling. She's a package of absolute joy! Finally making a start on getting rid of a lifetime's accumulation of 'stuff '...(we have a VERY tiny house!) Shared walks along the river, filled with good conversation and laughter. My partner's sweet smile, first thing each morning and last thing each night. Painful experience that shifted to positive: The loss this past year of several dear friends became a reminder to enjoy every day, every moment. As this coming year approaches, with all its promise and unknowns, I would like to say thank you...to you. You always make me think differently about so many things in my life. That is a rare gift, and is appreciated more than you might realize. May you and your family have a wonderful New Year, and I wish for bright blessings for you all! Much love 💞 Marian 🇨🇦

Dear Marian, thank you so much for sharing all those lovely things you are grateful for. It sounds like you had quite a few special, little, and painful experiences this year, and how wonderful that after a while and with a little distance to the painful ones we can see the good that came from all of them. I truly enjoy this practice because it always reminds me that I have so many things in my life and that often those experiences I suffered from the most are also the ones that taught me the most. I hope you had a great start to the new year and that it will bring you love, joy, and happiness 🥰!! I decided to take a step back and focus on my needs for a while because I strayed a little too far from my goals over the last couple of werks and fell back into a lot of bad habits. But this time I try not to blame and shame myself for this but show support and compassion. Lots of love from the black forest 💚🌲! Lexi

🌲What are you grateful for? I will go first: Today I chose to be grateful for: Special things: - this year's Christmas celebrations - the support of my family and friends - a visit to a medieval Christmas market and Europa Park - my sister visiting from Sweden - my determination to not give up and my relentlessness to keep going Little things: - my dog's attempts to play with me - my hot water bottle makes my bed cozy at night 😁 - every hug I get - nature's little wonders - every smile and laughter Painful experiences that brought good after all: - the divorce of my parents because now I have a step dad, a step mum and two little brothers 😊 - my breakdown because even though I still struggle a lot it started my healing journey And a lot more... What about you? 🥰

Dearest Lexi, It is the evening of the Solstice here, and what a glorious way to end my day! This is a stunningly beautiful message, and to think that I may have in any way inspired you is an absolute honour. I am constantly amazed at the effort, creativity, and honesty that you put into these videos. You have a way of reaching past the day to day distractions of our lives, and straight into our hearts. A wise woman, and a true artist. As we welcome the slow return of the Sun, I wish you, your family, and your sweet pup Bray, a safe and joyous time of celebration! Thank you again, my dear friend 🙏 Much love, always ❤ Marian 🇨🇦

Dear Marian, now I finally have time to properly answer to your lovely message. I am really glad that we meet through my videos and that you are such a huge part of my channel and enrich every video with your wise words and perspectives. 🥰 I like connecting with link minded people and it can be daunting if it feels like there is no one around who really gets you. But in that regard social media is a blessing 🥰 I hope you had the most beautiful Christmas festivities and a lovely new years eve. Happy new year, my friend. Thank you for all your inspiring words! Love Lexi

yeah, I don't think I aspire for any legacy of any sort . Because that would be too much pressure on myself and I already do that a lot, with other things, I don't need more, I would like keep it "easy" and wanting to leave the world a better place for sure. Also, building communities is something I love and I am very passionate about , people need people, so I wish you all the best into building that community of people you wish to have around. Make a list of what you want and go and find this people, build your tribe as nobody will come knocking on your door. Keep us posted !!

Dear Dreamer, thank you for watching and sharing your point of view on the topic. I agree that it could add a lot of pressure and like you, I already have enough of that in my life. I don't like to think of it as a "to-do" thing though. More of a direction and a reminder of what is currently important to me and which values I want to follow. It depends on my current state of being and I am all over the place right now so I try to find a little comfort in figuring out and reminding myself of those things that are steady in my life to have them be a sort of guide and safely line to hold on to when things get confusing and messy. Values and beliefs to circle back to. I hope you have a lovely day. Thank you for your input. Love Lexi
