In the vampire diaries book he was NOT confedrate. That is on the CW. They were just italian sons of a noble.

Thats why im get so mad at people that complains about hot fiction/literature, saying its "too much" or that it should be banned. You can dislike something, thats not the problem. But once you open the gates to "censorship" to one fiction theme, you open them to EVERYTHING and everyONE under the sun And watching young people say stuff like that, agreeing with censorship, is really scary

In my headcanons I decided Harry was irish, indian and japanese. This is manly because in the marauders fandom James was headcanoned as indian or latino, plus Petunia's actor was apparently part irish which means if the character was also irish, Lily would be too, and I took it and ran at full speed. The Japanese bit is more to spit on J.K Rolling because the way she completely was rude about the character of Cho Chang. But the problem was I don't know a lot about Chinese culture (which I am learning more about now) but I do know a lot more about Japanese culture and I thought the magicy things in Japanese religion, culture, and myth was kinda cool and fun to incorporate in the family magic of the Potter family. The family magic thing is because I think there is so much about the pure blood families that don't really get talked about, so I wanted to add too these kinda random families that are somehow better than others so I thought if their magic was unique based on where they came from and how those cultures performed magic differently it would be better then us just being told they're somehow more important then the muggleborns, obviously this isn't a excuse for the treatment of muggleborns just another reason

jonathan was the original scream queen/king and mina the first final girl, together they make up the ultimate nemesis of dracula (not van helsing lol) and we love to see it. tbh if we're going for a more gothic horror tone i would love to see a version were mina does become a vampire and jonathan is the one who begs her to be turned to be with her... or a version were jonathan is the one given the love angle/psychic connection and fights to free himself from dracula's toxic love/mind control

Old video, but I'm thinking of giving First Kill a try or I'm checking out people's overall thoughts on it. Also I LOL at your Lucy Hale comment. Yeah after Pretty Little Liars, everything that girl touches seems to be cursed. If it's a show, it will end in 1 season. If it's a movie, it will do bad at the box office.

Very nice! Thank you. As a kid I preferred reading over TV and movies because I could make all the main characters brown like me. Unlike my real life, my reading life was filled with main characters who looked like me and didn't have the weird codes always attached as black identifiers.

Just read Gender Queer. The focus of so much of these book bans. And the big bad scene that keeps being brought up….promotes abstinence. Like I know these people don’t read what they want to ban. But like….holy crap way to miss the bl*job for the trees

I still think it was Jess. They connected on another level. I know they ruined her character since the boat accident and well it is realistic that she is overprotected and not Lorelai and never ever could become war reporter, she could have worked in publishing, or have a column about the politics at best or as a professor. But still.. I wish they could reconcile and her to grow up.

I don’t think I ever disagreed with your takes but I do with this one. The story was not completely centered on Marguerite for the 2/3 of the movie because of the context of the events: the film makes it clear that the only thing the two men and all the people around them are worried about is their honour and not the victim. It was true for medieval times and it’s often true nowadays when a male celebrity beats/rapes someone and the public only cares about the the abuser/rapist and never stops to think about the victim. It was a very realistic situation so I don’t really understand why it’s not a good storytelling. I, too, would like Marguerite to be centered but it was not reality for them. And for me personally the third act becomes even better because after all the pettiness & mind fuckery we finally find out what really happened and hence believe her. We have a lot of movies centered that depict rapists as clearly evil characters. This movie still does it but we get the 50 shades of misogyny and see allll the ways that these men defend themselves and bend their own memories to fit their own narrative. Watching how the three version differ in small details that still matter a lot, I was honestly horrified by how differently those people perceived things that happened and how men’s misogyny clearly guided their actions in the wrong direction. The whole courtly love was especially horrifying to me because it’s clearly shown how men’s own misogyny can completely misread/ignore woman’s behavior. On top of that, like it often happens irl, Le Gris starts believing his own lies and it’s very easy for this because the society he lives by centers male pov more and treats it like a default pov. So yeah, this movie was a revelation for me personally. I find it to be an interesting take on misogyny and honestly I didn’t expect such an introspective take from a 80+ year old dude.

I would like to say, modernism was already flourishing since before WWI. Picasso had already painted Les Demoiselles d’Avignon (1907), Stravinsky had already written The Rite of Spring (1913), and T S Eliot had finished The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock by 1911 (published 1915); all of which are incredibly influential in modernist art. Modernism was more of a reaction to the sort of alienation they saw in modern society, which was especially pronounced by WWI, which is why it became such an influential event in the history of modernism. It sort of opened the eyes of a lot of people to the hollow state of modern society

While Nosferatu isn't TECHNICALLY a Dracula story, it was changed to avoid copyright disputes, the newest adaptation of Nosferatu is somehow worse in its depiction of its female lead than before. Really baffling choices were made.

Being in the BNHA/MHA fandom can be exhausting as hell when you're a League of Villains fan. I've never personally had anyone question my morals for liking the LoV, but people in my circle of the fandom have received hate for it. The takes are always so lukewarm at best.

this video comes across as being made by a completely ignorant, self-absorbed person who is rather lazy in her rereach and shows a general lack of compassion to anything other than what she deems a "worthy cause". - so you think that people who fell in love with a book and want an adaptation to be as accurate as possible are terrible, if not even racist or have something against anything but straight relationships..... wow. all that proves is that you have never read a book you cared about deeply enough, but apparently you are quite comfortable to insult everyone who doesn't think like you. pretty narrow-minded, if you ask me. - so you think an author HAS TO write a story that represents your tastes because YOU think a certain grp of ppl is underrepresented. again, how selfish can someone be? apparently you have never even tried to write anything, otherwise you would know how long it takes to write a story and how much effort is involved. it's not a shitty 9 to 5 job you come home from. you keep thinking about it all the time, and to DEMAND that someone writes about something they are not particularly interested in, have not enough understanding of, or any other reason because YOU want to read about it is just ridiculous. it really shows that you live inside your own little bubble with people who share your views. what you really should have done is find a story you like and promote that one and the writer behind it instead of criticizing a writer for an honest statement. but it appears that you are too lazy for that. instead of changing stories someone worked hard on to fit your tastes and believes, you should encourage people to write about those things in the first place. but that's too much work, right? - and to be quite frank, comments like: if it's poorly written or if the character is presented in a bad light inside the story, then it should be the role of a white actor - what the fuck? so it's okay for an actor to get backlash because he/she doesn't have the skincolor you prefer? amazing. talk about giving the cause a bad rep. *slowclap* good job! maybe grow up a little.

A year in the life is so terrible, I wanted to cancel my Netflix subscription! I can’t believe no one has read the script and said something to stop it or edit it heavily!! It was just a way Netflix could make money off a nostalgic experience from the past. After all the fuss of studying in Yale and having a career she ends up knocked up back in the same town! I wasted my youth looking up a bit to Rory for what?!

I will always love that the whole season basically revolves around the implicit assumption that Aegon is awful and everyone hates him... but he was the overwhelming fan favorite because he was the most dynamic and interesting character in the season. Oops. Big ups to Tom and big downs to the writers playing favorites instead of letting the characters speak for themselves.
