I said Disney would kill marvel and Star Wars years ago and I was right They should've stuck with kids animation. Now even their kids movies suck

I was watching a documentary about the extras who were in the original Star Wars movie. He walks on to the set that is the Hanger on Yavin IV. He said since it was a space movie he was expecting a nice clean environment with pretty white space ships like in 2001. He said the set was dirty, the equipment and space ships looked beat up, broken and had battle damage. The uniforms of the crew were worn out and dirty. That is when is thought "This is not a space movie it is a war movie and someone knows what they are doing." Somewhere Star Wars forgot that it was about a war. Rogue One and Empire got this because in the end the good guys lost, in Empire the Rebellion gets the snot kicked out of it for the entire movie. Luke loses his hand, Han is tortured and put in carbonite. The Rebellion is blasted off of Hoth. It was the first sequel where the heroes lose, which is why it is great. Disney tried to turn Star Wars into some sort of social justice statement.

One small correction: The Last Jedi Split the fandom into two parts: A. Those who didn't like it; and B. The media, critics and Disney employees frothing at the mouth with rabid, visceral hatred of anyone who fails to uncritically praise it.

I used to be the same way passionate and frustrated where the direction was headed but now I don’t even care. They could dr who it and make a little girl the first chosen one I’m just not interested anymore which sucks because I used to love Starwars.

The truly good Star Wars movies was episode 4 in episode 5 episode 6 I kind of i really can't imagine that a jedi could walk in to Java's palace and not. He have his lightsaber. That's just ridiculous. And the rest I mean, I definitely prefer episodes.12 and 3 over 789, but no, it's all gone.Downhill stands episode five

Andor is already dead, we know how his story ends. And he was in 1 movie, so I'm not emotionally invested in him. That's why I never had any desire to watch the TV show.

So I loved Star Wars Rebels. My judgment is that Ahsoka has ruined the characters. Sabine Wren was a favorite but she's quite unlikable in Ahsoka-- she's amazing as a Mandalorian and her character and Jedi in general did not need to be cheapened by someone deciding she should be a force-wielder. Ezra had his manhood cut-off-- character ruined. Grand Admiral Thrawn, a cunning and powerful character in Rebels looks tired and fat and a pushover for anyone with an IQ over a 100.Hera lost her lover in Rebels but there is no sense of that-- she comes across as conceited and full of herself. Ahsoka folds her arms way too many times and stares without meaning a lot and a common constipated look in her expression. Ahsoka in Rebels was fierce but there was also a warmth to her missing in her own show. I was ready to love this show, and I can't stand it. To be honest, I'm not sure what the show is about. Pieces of it were totally ripped off-- the statues are from Lord of the Rings--- the opening temple is right out of Fifth Element. Too many light sabers. The battle in space with Ahsoka was a joke. Mem-berries were also too common.

My impression is that Star Wars just isn't made for people like me anymore. I too was a die hard who grew up with it and was obsessed with it, but Disney seemingly just wants to reach a different audience. If that's what they want, I shouldn't be expected to be a round peg trying to fit into a square hole.

Ok... I think the ending is not what you may think. He actually died... there was no ejection seat. The woman also died. Its was hinted at several points that the man thought he was living an untrue existence and died on that beach. THIS time it is true... except it is a sort of heaven type thing. Seriously think about it. How would he or nobody have known the girl was not dead until the end? why would an ejection seat be secret? The money, and the way he acted the entire time like he was ready and avoided the topic. He just let his family and friends believe he was going to die garunteed with no hope? Sure it is a feel good ending until you look deeper. Sorry to be a drag.

No one wants to hear it, bc it’s uncool to realize: but what killed SW is „no creative people“ and feminism. I’m all in for feminism. But here it wasn’t the place to Hyper inject it into. And the inability to come with SOME stories and world building with the DisneyLucasfilm … is simply a sign of a real hole generation of industry people not having the skills for fantasy storytelling

I blame you juvenile comic-book and video-game fanboys for visiting this plague of "IP" on us in the first place. Once upon a time, you were considered cultural and intellectual troglodytes, and nobody except tramp studios would make movies for you as an audience. Once you got the comic book movies you were wailing for, adults lost their appetite for movies. The generation after you doesn't even recognize a world beyond their phones, so of course studios have no idea what movies to make. The choice seems to be keep churning out "IP" for a demanding, spoiled, bitchy core of immature young men or cobble together a movie based on algorithmic predictions from social media monitoring. If anyone has a right to complain, it's all of us who were avid moviegoers in the 1970s. We'll never again see a decade in American film that could give us everything from Taxi Driver to Klute to the Godfather to Jaws to Chinatown to Raiders of the Lost Ark to Rocky. For us, Hollywood has been falling apart for 50 years.

I’ve not watched anything since kenobi. I’m the same as you I think, TLJ was a massive disappointment for me and it’s just got worse and worse. When kenobi was announced I too thought “if they mess this up I’m done, arguably the 2 most popular characters in the franchise, if they can’t get this right there’s no hope”. And it was awful, I couldn’t understand how they managed to get it so wrong. And that’s the last bit of SW content I’ve watched. I’ve heard good things about andor but I’m done. I’m not setting myself up for more disappointment.

Yes, Rowling won’t stop being part of the movie franchise, and she shouldn’t have ever given Warner Brother’s, or any studio, to adapt ‘The Philosopher’s Stone’ because Hollywood chooses to make shit. And, no the insane people online and in public are making it political. And she didn’t even say anything about transgenderism until they brought it up for no reason. And, I think that she should just say just once online, and in interviews, that all lives matter including all of the murdered unborn children, and just move on and talk about the books, and hire Norton and other non-modern Hollywood filmmakers.

Well, if Hollywood would have hired Edward Norton to do the script for every Harry Potter book, if he had read each of them, then it would be so much more relevant than they are today. Same with if he had read lotr, and other majorly forgotten books like ‘Goosebumps’, ‘Forrest Gump’, ‘The Never-Ending Story’, etc. And, I’m sorry, (not sorry) because, just like the Star Wars and lotr films, and the other ones that I just mentioned above, the Harry Potter ones are very-poorly made. They just need to hire other actors and fans who actually care about how to make good book adaptations and films, and not just Norton.

Thanks for making this video, I have been feeling this way since Last Jedi onward. I used to love Star Ward to death, even proudly acknowledging it without regards to what anyone says. But those days are over now and I really don't care enough about SW anymore because of how they butchered this IP, the only thing I am looking forward to is Andor Season 2 everything else I really don't care about.

The fact that we are having this kind of conversation is exactly what Kathleen and Company are gunning for. They want to make the fanboys angry. Our criticisms are music to them and they will just double down on the aspects we dislike the most.

My personal Star Wars ended with the Legacy of the Force book series. The journey of Jaina and Jacen Solo/Darth Caedus from Young Jedi Knights through the Yuuzhan Vong War in the 90s to their final confrontation in the 00s. Decades of those books, dozens of writers, hundreds of plot threads -- some were bad, most were ok, many were great -- that somehow managed that one amazing overarching largely cohesive narrative of the Solo children. Until the Disney sequels, that was all canon (or at least not considered non-canon). I get why Disney did away with the EU, but for all Disney's resources and 100s of millions they've spent they haven't come anywhere close to what the novels accomplished. Maybe it was (Force) lightning in a bottle. Either way, having all that reading time invested in those books over the years, that's how I prefer that the tale of Star Wars played out. The Force Awakens and everything from it just doesn't exist to me.

"Half of Star Wars fans thought The Last Jedi was a masterpiece" Really? Barely half would have thought The Force Awakens was a masterpiece. Do you remember Fin placing his hand on Reys head when climbing up - like in cartoons? If he really put weight into his hand he would have seriously injured her neck...

I really love Minus One. I stopped watching the Legendary movies after the third one. And that one I only watched the first 1/3 of it and stopped, because it was utter trash. I'm glad I didn't watch them in the theater and waste money on them. I hope Minus One introduces a new era of Godzilla movies. Better movies that make me forget the trash Hollywood is spewing out. If there is someone who can do it, it's the original creators. Godzilla is and always will be japanese, after all. Back to the roots, boys n girls.

I hate Star Wars I'm more of a Star Trek fanatic and I believe Star Wars is nothing more than fantasy AKA Lord of the Rings in space and therefore I only went to see the new movies because for the special effects it kind of look cool the first one was okay but it was basically a remake of the original movie from way back in the seventies A New Hope I believe is the name of it but what really made me laugh my ass off was the last Jedi because I was there on opening night and it was packed and I'm watching it and laughing my ass off because everyone pretty much knows Star Wars and all of the story and everything that involves Star Wars even if you're not a fan of the universe you know all about it and I literally knew right then and there watching The Last Jedi that everything that they had made before was being destroyed right before my eyes and I couldn't help but laugh my ass off and when I got out of the movie I called my friend who was an ex-marine and 48 years old and I told him how bad it was he didn't believe me I said well just go watch it for yourself and you let me know. Well about 6 hours later this ex-marine grown man's man called me crying bitching and moaning about how Disney had destroyed Star Wars and I didn't mean to but I couldn't help myself and still kept laughing because I thought it was hilarious on how bad the Last Jedi was and don't even get me started with the rise of Skywalker LOL that was a fucking joke. Solo was pretty pathetic and Rogue one was basically about the only semi-decent Star Wars movie that they made everything else was absolute ass. But it's okay because Disney did the same damn thing to what I love the most and that was the MCU so I guess we're all in the same boat

Bob Iger has publicly stated that the Disney company is in a state of transformation. It's very clear there is an ideology that has gripped the company, as well as Lucasfilm, from top-to-bottom. You look at statements by people like Kathleen Kennedy, Bob Iger, the Reimagine Tomorrow division, Lezlie Headland, Mark Hamill, etc., and it's clear that Star Wars is and will continue to be invested in DEI, ESG, misandry, and poor storytelling by lackluster writers. Even worse, George Lucas doesn't even care. He had a chance to speak out against the abuse of his "child", and he said "Bob is good." I still have hope that maybe some years down the road Star Wars can be resurrected. But it might not be for another 10 or 20 years. Whatever time it takes for this woke stain to lift off the world. The alphabet people and their minions are running things, today.

The Mandalorian was not good. It was mediocre at best. Take out a SW background and baby Yoda, and you get a shitshow cancelled after 10 episodes.
