Never leave your keys (or phone or wallet) by the front door. You aren’t always receiving friends, sometimes it’s a delivery person or someone doing a survey, for example. I knew someone who had their garage key removed from their key ring and had their garage broken into.

How did they get into the house without a key? Your comment is illogical.
@vintageprue87282 ай бұрын
@@cakedupkevin they were a delivery person etc, the home owner opened the door to them, even leaving the door for a minute gives criminals opportunity to steal. Many people keep keys in drawers near their front doors, it’s very dangerous, potentially.
@vintageprue87282 ай бұрын
Great comment! We willingly open our doors to potential criminals, with no need for forced entry. Don’t keep keys/ cash etc in drawers or anywhere near front doors.

I've been doing these for decades as normal! In Germany we put eg lego in a sieve and wash it in the dishwasher. Europeans never wear "outside, street" shoes in a house because it is so unhygienic. I have "house shoes" but prefer to go barefoot. We have "guest slippers" for people visiting. If I did the "post hack" i would never look at mail. Plus in Europe our mail comes through the letterbox slit in the front door/wall of the house and scatters all over the floor, so you have to pick it up. My hack is to open it all immediately, throw the rubbish in the trash, put file stuff

I love your videos. Always great advice. The mineral oil in the sink! Yes MINERAL oil! A few yrs ago I saw a video that said to polish your stainless steel sink with olive oil. Like a total idiot i did it. It was very beautiful....until i turned the water on! Ugggg i felt so stupid because what happens to olive oil when its cooled?.. it turns solid. It was a huge mess! But mineral oil is great it makes it look new and repels mess. Its so easy to wipe it clean and pretty😊

Thank you so much!! ❤ And you are so right about the olive oil! The mineral oil is so much better for sure :)

My favourite tip was to clean the microwave after you've used it to heat up food or a drink. I never run it with just water or vinegar for the sole purpose of cleaning. It's a waste of electricity and the liquid if just dumping it down the sink.
@tarynmaria_2 ай бұрын
Thank you! I do it sometimes with vinegar but then I put the vinegar into the dishwasher to clean it! :)

Microwave I disagree - use a plastic food cover and forever you will only be rinsing the inside of that thing in your sink with a quick rinse, and a wipe down of the glass plate. The only downside of a microwave food cover is training your family to use it, as I found when I gifted one to my family. It must be universally used. (NOT universally cleaned each time.)

Great video & tips. I’m really looking forward to the paper clutter one. In the UK our post comes through a letterbox in the front door rather than in a mail box outside your house. Just curious, do most people check their mail boxes every day or do they sometimes forget & then have about 3 days worth of post & rubbish to sort through?
@tarynmaria_2 ай бұрын
Thank you!! Also, I don't check my mail every day :) I think it varies - I personally forget and end up leaving it in the mailbox for days!

I put my vacuum filters, e.g. Dyson/shark, in the dishwasher too. Part of my routine is to do that every few uses. I found that hand washing the filters was enough friction that I wouldn't clean them often enough

Actually you can "cook" really well in a microwave... I have a microwave steamer for steaming vegetables, dumplings, potatoes, fish... I cook meat, cakes, sauces (learnt that type from Jamie Oliver) and eggs (scrambled, poached, omelette). It is fast, THE MOST economical way to cook and healthy.. no oil, frying etc.
@MsVanja172 ай бұрын
@@rebeccarendle3706 okay i didnt know all options for cook but is not healthy using microwave anyway.👍🏻 mostly used in our area is heating meals that it or defrost.
@rebeccarendle37062 ай бұрын
@@MsVanja17 of course it is healthy! The idea it is dangerous is an "old, uneducated myth."...A microwave used NON-IONIZING RADIATION... which is not harmful. Maybe learn the science!
