"£1,200!!!" LOL you can buy a Brompton electric on their renewals page for £2,300 and thats 'new' and inspected and guaranteed (ex demo buy repaired like new 10 part inspection) by Brompton! And for that you not only get the battery you get the bike as well! :P This is 1,200? You can get a Pedibal Navigata with an inspected certified twist throttle (legal) for less than this battery! Thats the whole bike! Calling this cheap is just silly!

Pakistan is only now able to afford solar panels because the price dropped so much, and because the electricity power grid cuts out like twice a day It's a mixture of government and private individuals, often not even for the sake of wanting cheap electricity given the cost has gone down from an expensive price of 5p/kWh (expansive when you consider the average wage) to 1p/kWh Solar solves intermittent power issues there.

The 22bn ccs project would also qualify for tax rebates of between 80pc and 108pc. You have to laugh, we pay BP and Shell as well as buy their gas and oil and subsidise the projects based on green hydrogen made from gas and CCS! And where is the media on this? No Panorama report?

America will soon realize what a Republican running a company actually means; Jobs shipped to China, Executive Pay with zero Insight and zero Foresight and zero Leadership. After 6 months of driving a Chinese EV he still doesn't understand that He failed Ford, while being paid millions like GM's Mary Barra being paid $30 million. Republican Capitalism Disasters

I am Chinese, and all of us Chinese do not consider our country to be a communist country. Why do Westerners have such a big misunderstanding? First of all, if people do not even understand the national attributes of their opponents, then they must be very failed. The Chinese Communist Party is also 100% sure that communism will not be realized. It is just a view in the early stages. The actual Chinese system is actually called "socialism with Chinese characteristics". This system absorbs the advantages of capitalism and a small part of communism, so it is a very realistic social system.

Why was durability mentioned as one of the key factors, but then not addressed during the interview. The problem with Perovskites has always been with their durability. Has this company addressed the durability issue of the Perovskite materials?

Legacy auto became dependant on Chinese market for sales of ICE. The Chinese govt supported development of EVs and us and European manufacturers failed to jump onboard. Now the Chinese market is shunning both ICE and EVs made by legacy auto because the product is not competitive with locally made product. Australia has embraced Chinese auto because we don’t have a local auto industry, the result is lower cost of motoring in safer quieter fashion. The Sony Honda the tie-up has gone nowhere. The concept that reliance on China auto could be catastrophic is not logical given manufacturing ability remains. Tesla is interested in licensing the factories that build batteries. Teslas car manufacturing process is not hidden. The Chinese have adopted some of these techniques. The comments regarding govt subsidy of public charging missed the inequality (present around the world) between those who can charge at home and those who can’t. Govt policy does tinker with governance of utility to reduce inequality.

Cheaper for who? Certainly not the person that pays the energy bills 0.79p a kwh is ridiculous and its throwing more and more people to the tune of over 4 million in energy debts and poverty. So when will we actually get cheap energy for the masses or are we going to keep peddling an energy transition that is making the majority of the UK people worse off. I have solar and EV I am lucky but you fail to recognise that its making people of the UK poorer and profits for a handful soar. Energy is everything it ups the cost of everything. Its so far all at the expense of peoples lives and old people who cant afford energy but have to fit the bill. Not one single public service is able to cater for the UK population and a big part of it is the insanity of energy prices for cheaper to produce energy. UK public are being lied to all the way to the bottom of their pockets such a shame how this is working out so far. It should have meant cheaper energy in abundance and help the UK nation.

I couldn't believe it when the Labour Govt announced this massive support for CCS. The excuse of course is to support certain "hard to transition" industries. I'd love to hear more about alternative approaches to keep those industries, like glass making and cement/concrete, keep going without burning stuff.

A recent Panorama programme showed a new CCS system in Iceland. It was huge, used a lot of power, dissolved the Co2 in water which was pumped underground into basalt rock. It can extract what sounds like a large amount of CO2... until they said it was what is released by the activities 7000 people a year.... Not exactly planet saving.

Renewable energy is cheaper ? 😆🤣 Tell that to Ofgen who have just increased the price cap. The promise of renewable energy is always jam tomorrow. If the West was serious about a transition to EV's they would not be putting tariffs on Chinese EV's. Where's the free market the West keeps banging on about? The fact is the entire net zero con is about protecting the profit rather than protecting the planet.

if 49% battery is recyclable its great but 51% toxic material waste is vanishes into air because harry potter said 'vaniosha'. edited news is a bullshit. All diesel that burned is recycled by plants. Can you say the same to battery that can't even be repaired. So, do you really own the ev when you have one?
