Discovered you through Huberman's interview on Diary Of A CEO. I've been practicing the Wim Hof Method almost every day since early on in the first lockdown and of late my retention times have been getting less and less. However, every time I try your practice immediately before my breathing exercises my retention times rise exponentially 😃 So thank you for helping me arrive at a very mellow place 🙏🏻

@@kellyboys5313 It is indeed Kelly. I've tried other guided Yoga Nidra vids but I keep returning to yours. Your delivery, vocal tone, pitching and tempo just resonate so perfectly that you put me in the right place every time. Thank you for your generosity of spirit 🙏🏻 All power to you ❤️

I love how you start at the jaw instead of the feet. For me and I'm sure for many whether they realise it or not, it's the epicenter of tension. My tongue as well I always need to stop it from pressing against the roof of my mouth when I try to sleep because it creates tension and literally keeps me awake. Took me years to figure this out and it still feels almost impossible at times to stop it from doing that as its like a compulsion and often I can't even make myself put my tongue down. It's really weird. Even though I'm telling myself to do so I can't. It's like I'm blocked from doing so. Very very slowly I'm getting better at it and I'm talking years of practice, really kinda crazy how hard it is for me to unlearn.
@kellyboys53132 ай бұрын
I agree, the jaw is a big place of tension for folks so starting there makes sense to me too. Sounds like you're really working on this for yourself and I'm hopeful the yoga nidra helps with what you shared about here. Maybe also dropping any self-judgment and letting things be as they are, and then relaxing all the muscles in the face could help. Thanks for sharing~

Here because andrew huberman! You have a lovely voice. When doing this meditation, are u supposed to do nasal breathing or breathing in with ur nose and out through the mouth? Thanks 🙏
@kellyboys53132 ай бұрын
The first few breaths, feel free to breathe in the nose and out the mouth if that is preferred (either way is fine) but generally in yoga nidra it's nasal breathing once you settle into the practice. Hope this helps, glad to have you!

Amazing guidance! Thank you! I have practiced listening to this particular track quite a few times over the last month+. I enjoy the other ones as well. Your voice is particularly pleasant and soothing. Only thing I find myself missing a bit is a guided practise of similar length but with less verbal instruction to leave a bit more space for just experiencing the various stages. There's so much valuable teaching in this one it sometimes feels a little busy 😁 In any case, thank you and may many find this of benefit 🙏

Thank you! Agreed, I'd love to create one with more space. Appreciate your listening and reflection :)

I’ve done this yoga nidra several times now and although I didn’t tap into of have clarity or felt sense of one of my core beliefs on my first listen, the more that I did this yoga nidra, the more I became aware of them and was able to engage with them. Beautiful yoga nidra incorporating what seems like internal family systems type of work, which I am familiar with and has benefited me. Beautiful to have a guided version of exploring these parts within us. I am so grateful that Huberman recommended you, I listen daily, I am able to now engage with a sense of safety within my body when I am out and about and feel triggered or scared, and the more I do your yoga nidras, the more clarity I have in my thinking as well. Thank you so much and please make more guided yoga nidras that incorporate therapeutic type exercises like this one. I will be sharing this with many of my friends and hope that they get it, and benefit the way that I have. Another suggestion, creating one for teen with anxiety. Thank you 🙏

I'm so glad to hear this, thanks for sharing your experience! It's great that you stuck with it and that you saw results from doing that. Yes, it's a mix of different approaches as you state here. It's so key to be able to engage with a sense of safety when you feel triggered/scared -- as well as having more clarity! That's inspiring. I'll create more like this and consider an anxiety one for teens too. Thanks again 😊

This ranks way higher than Huberman's guided NSDR-- I feel the instructions are more clear and they just work. The key insight of feeling the sensations and breathing (with long exhales) at once came only when I tried Kelly's guided meditations (on the Waking Up app first)-- this is what helps me go into deep relaxation. Thank you for this!
