30-minute Yoga Nidra Practice for Beginners (guided by Kelly Boys)

Grab a pillow, prop up your legs, and lie down for a full yoga nidra practice. This guided meditation, geared toward beginners, includes:
-setting an intention (if you know where you're headed you're more likely to get there)
-feeling well-being (essential for deactivating the stress response)
-body scan (systematically rotating attention through your body helps rest your mind and relax your body)
-naming emotions (acknowledging emotions and mood tones builds emotional self-awareness)
-noticing thoughts (helps you learn to witness your mind and body)
-and....welcoming your experience throughout the practice without refusing it is key as a foundational mindfulness practice.

Thank you, Kelly. These meditation sessions, have been helped a lot to be more relaxed and aware of my thoughts that sometimes end up causing negative emotions that reflect negatively in my body. I've been feeling much more balanced. Thanks!❤

I have ADHD so my mind was wandering throughout nevertheless I listened and tried to focus for the entire duration.Thanks for the upload Kelly

That's great you gave such a long practice a try! It's the mind wandering & bringing it back to focus that is actually best for building the muscle of attentional focus. So: mind wandering and catching it, for a mindful yoga nidra practice, is a good thing :)

Amazing guidance! Thank you! I have practiced listening to this particular track quite a few times over the last month+. I enjoy the other ones as well. Your voice is particularly pleasant and soothing. Only thing I find myself missing a bit is a guided practise of similar length but with less verbal instruction to leave a bit more space for just experiencing the various stages. There's so much valuable teaching in this one it sometimes feels a little busy 😁 In any case, thank you and may many find this of benefit 🙏

Thank you for uploading this video. Amazing how challenging it can be to lay comfortably on a mat. After twenty minutes, I could not stand just lying and got this strong urge to move my body. Should I just acknowledge this restless energy and do nothing about it? Or should I release this restless energy by moving my body for a while?

Thanks for your question, I'd try both if I were you - remaining still and meeting the energy as it flows through your body, and alternately, getting up to "discharge" it by moving around. You could use both as an opportunity for meditative inquiry.
