Thanks for updating this mod, i was waiting to play it so bad. Sadly, i experienced a bug in multiplayer. I tried the supply drop quest with 2 friends, and it spawned a total of 9 crates

Could make this a tad bit shorter and make a platform across the top with knockdown traps and boom , you have a lane to walk through and have easy shots at them and a way for them to fall down easily.

why didnt make them fall into a 1x1 tube after reaching the highest point and connect the bottom end of the tube with another set of stairs and so on. so you can terminate the variable of them running down the stairs instead of jumping.

@CautiousPancake - Hi. I used your "Storage Cube" shape blocks to make a forced pathfinding forcefield in 7D2D v1.1. It works, but I did notice a flaw that I had to work around. I don't know if the other suggested shaped blocks have this same flaw or not. I would have to test it out when I get some time. So the flaw is that zombies can fall inside the "Storage Cube" shape blocks and get stuck inside. How does this happen? Here are some things that will cause zombies to fall inside the blocks. a.) Putting spike traps on top of the "Storage Cube" shape blocks. When I did this, the zombies were still following the forced path and taking damage along the way, but a lot of zombies were also falling inside the "Storage Cube" shape blocks as a result. b.) Zombies falling from stairs or a ladder or other platform. Zombies that fall onto the "Storage Cube" shape blocks will often end up inside the blocks. c.) A Robotic Sledge that knocks zombies onto the "Storage Cube" shape blocks often results in the zombies getting stuck inside the blocks. // So my solution for this is to not use spike traps, don't put stairs or ladders or platforms near the "Storage Cube" shape blocks, and to point the Robotic Sledge away from the "Storage Cube" shape blocks. // Thank you for your very helpful tutorial though. I may end up trying the other blocks that you suggested. // PS - How do I @ someone on KZbin comments? I @'d you but it doesn't work.

If the point was so zombies can't get to you, there is an easier way. Find a big hill, and dig down in the side of it at 45 degrees. Dig far enough, and the surface will be outside the maximum spawn distance. The zombies cannot spawn.

The fact that the zombies can climb up latters but there is no animation for climbing is one reason I like the older builds of this game.

I'm over here just making trenches and spikes like a dry moat since water doesn't seem to impact them much anymore. Then I make a concrete tower and a big pit they can fall or be knocked into also filled with spikes.

Hey Pancake, First off I wanted to thank you for such a cool mod, It's making questing a lot more fun and diverse! But I wanted to tell you that there is a bug in the missions where you can optionally get the Satchels, leaving the White river Supplies even after finishing the quest. Is that an issue you are aware of? and if so, is there a patch in the works? Regardless this won't get me to uninstall the mod, but If I could not go into creative mode after completing these missions it would be a plus hahah.

I might have this game, probably haven't played in like 10 years. Given your experiment at start. It's clear that ladder is best use of space. As you slow them in a 1 block vertical you are half your block stair time, so 2 ladders in 3 blocks is equal and you still have 7 more blocks to go your 10 block base. Meaning you can double or 150% your block stair time, that's even more extreme when you raise ladder higher then 10 block as it still is 1 block space. A more compact and smaller run then what you have shown

I never switch to tier one tools unless I'm jumping a whole tech or have no mods. Unless I trip over it while in the field, it's almost never been worth spending the resources to craft a tier 1 for me. Especially since draining your stamina in time for a pair of screamers to show up is less then ideal when things are running around.

Hey great video and amazing base, I'm having a bit of a problem tho. I'm on 1.1 (b14) and some zombies started digging through the ground surrounding the base to get closer to me instead of using the poles to fall down. They still mostly do, but as soon as one or two zombies dug a path downwards most of them use that instead of falling off the poles. The base is still kinda working as intended, but the digging can end up at one of the supporting railings and that could become a problem over time. Not sure if they changed the pathfinding or if my base is too high up (it starts at elevation 62), but thought I might just let you know in case someone runs into the same problem

Looks fantastic. The only thing I would change like you mentioned, rotate the pathing by 90 degrees, as I would prefer shooting while they are running towards me. But shooting them in the back seems like fun.

Thank you for the time and effort to provide this video. I have built this base and used it on two horde nights. What I am seeing is when I am down inside dropping pipe bombs, zombies will jump across to the force field blocks and up to the top before trying to come down the hatch. If I stay up on top, they don't jump across and just fall into the pit. Works great until getting hit with cop spit, vultures and the occasional turret blast that forces me to retreat back into the base for health regen. I just rewatched this build for at least the 10th time and did notice my side poles are not done the same. I used poles on every block, 9 blocks down to create a path instead of dropping a pole on the 9th block. My error and I will fix it before the next horde. I am hopeful this will stop them from jumping across. I am considering using a different type of forcefield block to create a thin path that I can walk across to access the base, and then a ladder up to the top. This should prevent them from somehow using the forcefield blocks and allow for them to tumble into the pit.

I know a block combo in this game that is so broken... talking about what it is will get it patched instantly... I so badly want to show ppl... but I think I have to gate-keep it forever. its such a nice thing to have on hand when I play. but I do want to see you test it out... but then it'll be patched and that will be it.

oooo - now I'm very curious! Not everything gets patched out - my 11 block rage mode rule is holding strong after a couple of alphas, most of the forcefields are still good etc. But I also totally understand where you're coming from as some things do (trader base exploit for example). Is it so broken that it gives you an impossible advantage, or something like this glitch - where I personally think it's niche enough that they won't fix it.

if you mean the pink guns and block replace tool - yes those are, but you have to be in creative mode and give yourself them - you can't get them in game. IF you just mean does the block trick still works - then yes to that too :)

Great improvements on those quests, I really love what you've done, not only with this mod, but with everything else too. I do have one gripe though, there should be more quests to choose from overall, five are not enough with the increased quest types, they are barely enough for vanilla. The first few days I think most people focus on POI quests based on distance and type of loot, and even later in the game you get the feeling of "no good quests today". The Food/Meds quest is pretty much a no-go at the start and the Supply Drop, just like the Burried Supplies, eats away at the available POI quest options. Basically, I'd want a better chance of getting a quest type I like in a POI I like.

Hey mate - I hear you. Took a minute - I thought you were asking for more different quests, but you just (I think) want more choices - so 10 options to pick from, which would also help with the quest balancing. I'll have a look and see what can be done - I have a feeling others have done something similar before.

Just an idea for the med supply quests... Would it be possible to add temporary additional slots to the backpack to put the required items in, thus being a visual reminder to the player not to use the items. Loving that this has been updated 😎

That's an interesting idea! I also considered making a step where you combine the required mats into a single supply package - so that it uses less room, and it's a specific quest object that can't be used/lost. If this new version needs fixes that's something I'll consider implementing (but also look at the backpack slots you've suggested!)

Hey CautiousPancake, loving the new quests and all the good work you do for us! Any chance of developing a quest type of gathering certain zombies and bringing them back to the trader for studying?? I was thinking it'd be hilarious if there was a harpoon-n-tether type of weapon that would tie the zombie to you and you'd have to wrangle it back to the Trader as it wraps around trees, gets stuck on rocks and cars, and possibly tears loose making you have to go get another one like it, Lol. If it's something you can pull off... GREAT! If not, then I'm happy to give you something to chuckle about 😎👍

I love this Mod. The Speed Clear is really fun!!! Also, things spawning in while you're waiting for a drop just makes sense. I hope TFP are considering that when Bandits are finally ready. (in 2028... ish)

i love the idea of the defend the safe house quest wish it was in the base game would be fun to build a spot a lil bit in a poi to defend a mini horde night really cool idea and mimics one of the best parts of the game the only thing i would change is maybe a 1 min timer to have more time to build something if you liked but i dunno how hard it is to do this quest

Yeah - it's a real toss up between those that want time to build and those that want to just get in and fight. I considered a random one where you wouldn't know how long they would take - but that seemed like the worst of both approaches :D
