Good Morning Bruce! If you like getting more use out of zip ties, there is another method you might try instead of cutting it. Insert a small flat head screwdriver where the notch 'locks' the strap. Push slightly and it 'unlocks'. The long tab can be passed back through and thus be reused. This can be done several times without any issues. Good luck my friend.

Nice machine. I noticed on some of the Quantums I have worked on that muffler bolts were missing. The last one, I couldn't find a bolt and it would take two weeks to get one on line. I went to Tractor Supply and found a bolt, purchased some sleeves, and made a bolt. It's still working.

Awesome, Bruce. Can’t beat a quantum. Years ago when I worked at a tool rental, we had a Parker Scavenger all terrain vacuum which had an early generation Quantum with manual choke. It didn’t matter what the temperature was outside, it started on first or second pull EVERY time.

WRT the blade comment, a wise old sage once said, "A thing of beauty is a joy forever". Gifted my 18 year old Craftsman riding mower to the sis in law. Replaced the trans axle last year. Cheap Spicer licensed junk. Still runs and mows like a champ. Nothing but good things to say about Craftsman.

Hi Bruce Thank you for the wealth of knowledge (and good humour) you’re sharing with the world. It has already helped me immensely. I have a Honda HRB535 and the blades won’t engage. The cable is good and still pulls the brake assembly off the the clutch, so I don’t understand why the blades don’t engage. I have taken the clutch apart, but I don’t know what I’m looking at. I’m working on a vertical shaft pressure washer with a Honda engine on it. Starts up runs for a few minutes then quits. I’ve cleaned the carburetor twice, blew out the tank, and fuel lines but I can’t seem to figure it out. I changed the fuel cap with another machine still no difference. I s it possible that the pump is no good. I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t work?
@BrucesShop5 ай бұрын
It could be a coil.
@stoolie105 ай бұрын
I was thinking about that also or what do you think about an unloader? Coils can just get hot and quit but start back up in a few minutes? 🤔
@stoolie105 ай бұрын
Bruce, I put another coil on it and it ran for about three minutes and the engine started running rough then shut off. Unloader issues or thermal relief valve is the next thing to try swapping out.
@waynestefinashen2395 ай бұрын
@@stoolie10 Exactly your issue but you should be able to get the unloader valve freed up so it works properly with a good lubrication and cleaning. At EP we suggest all our customers store their units with a shot of B&S Pump Saver sprayed inside the pump once all the water has been removed. Not only provides protection from water freeze ups but also provides good internal lubrication. Especially important if your water supply is what is called hard water
