That whole attitude of ‘bucket lists’ as you say I don’t understand but have seen it myself here in Australia and as a tourist. We always consider ourselves guests when we travel, it is a privilege to visit another place and culture. My husband and I also spent many years in service industries, so we understand the value of asking the locals- staff in restaurants, hotels, tour guides, etc- what they recommend. Elizabeth might like ‘Gold Shaw Farm’- a polyfarming vlog. Big love to you both, you’re amazing women ❤

Are you aware that Desert Drifter had a very bad car accident on his way home from a day of filming not long after you stated this was one of the KZbin channels you watch when you can. Andrew has a severe brain injury. His wife Evelyn has asked to spread the prayers for him far and wide. Thank you so much for introducing me to Desert Drifter channel. I really enjoy your sit downs with Elizabeth.

That sounds like such a scary experience! I am currently expecting and hoping for a good or decent labor experience.

Over here in the uk we have various supermarkets we can choose to shop in. Positano has just one so I imagine the prices are high, more like our farm shops or delicatessen (quality items but you pay a lot more) ( do you check your receipt before leaving the shop after you’ve purchased a lot of things?

I thought you might have discussed the difference in house interiors. For example, your father’s English home is furnished with rather lovely looking quality furniture…making it stylish & comfortable. Italian homes are mostly rustic, less comfortable looking…plus most furniture appears to be bought second hand. Would you agree with this?

In America we had private birthing rooms and Midwives to deliver our babies! My husband was with me the whole time! Both times…

Dear Nicki, I remember you saying that one of your favourite youtube channel was DESERT DRIFTER (it's also one of mine). Andrew had a serious car accident 10 days ago, and he's now in hospital in a fairly serious condition; his wife made a video about this a week ago, on the Desert Drifter channel. Friends of him have organised a Gofundme and have suggested to keep watching his existing videos to keep his channel on top. I was thinking you could relay the info on your main channel, to encourage your followers either to make a donation or to watch his videos ? Thanks :)

17:00 Unfortunatelly, every hospital works differently, like if they weren't all public hospitals ... didn't you have to go to the same hospital for checks during the pregnancy? It should all be written in the "fascicolo sanitario elettronico".

Hi ladies....I forgot to say, I really love your conversations! It reminds me of the coffee-break conversations we had while I was working.....just fun, educational, informative etc. Enjoying yourself a lot!

Hello Nicki and Elsbet. I agree about more negativity shown amongst people. There was a time that we understood to be polite, or keep negative comments to yourself. Now people have no filters! Service is not pleasant so much anymore......we need to go back to the way things were. We need to show respect again. Love your chat sessions❤

Hi ladies....so interesting to hear your birthing experiences. I listened to your stories and we seem to all have some wild experiences. I have 2 healthy grown children now and when I had my 1st (a son) I was having labour pains. Up until that time I was very private (you know). Well, when I was taken into the labour room, Nurse Bic came by and just chopped away.....unexpectedly 😢 She was rough! I found out the pains happened quickly after that and I didn't care who saw anything that was previously private! So many crazy things started happening. I heard a lady delivering, screaming from the next room over...nurses would come by our rooms and sneak a few puffs from a cigarette in our rooms, they brought us extra blankets, brought us extra snacks etc. Our stories are special to us and it's wonderful we can share our motherhood journeys with each other....thank you both!😂

I had a horrible nurse assist in the operating room during my first cesarean. Remarks that were totally unacceptable, i was very young, if it was now i would have told her off. Yes, they whisk the babies away fast...i didn't see my first child for about 12 hours, the second child was even longer. It's all a game of chance for each delivery. My daughter had to use a hospital and doctor she never went to before after going to the same doctor for 9 months....an emergency out of town happened and she had to use the nearest hospital. Totally different STATE !! lol You never know !

I would drop a weeks pay cheque there I am afraid 😳. Yummy cheeses and fresh fish. I craved homemade fish and chips with a side of peas when I saw that lol. Plus some plush palazzo casual pants and a clock for my kitchen! Oh gosh. A van full every week. And the market near Marie in Vicopisano would take the rest of my money. Trying to get to their BnB this year for a nice stay but I may just do that and never leave! Loved this video Nicki! Colleen☘️💁🏼♀️

Watching this is so relaxing 🥰 My mom took the name of my Italian dad 30 years ago after the wedding and that was also funny for many 🤣 Nicki I like your hair so much can you make a haircare video and make up/skincare? I would be very happy. Greetings from a Sorrentina 😊

Nicky... That is some story... I didn't know all this... Even that if father can come inside or not... That is the only thing that I heard before and if i know well are a few hospitals that let you to do that, and some... No father in the room.

Well, I have never had children, and I guess I’m not particularly maternal. But I was horrified,Nicki, at your story. 😞😞 The thought of not being able to see my child for 12 hours is intolerable. I guess time heals most wounds and neither you nor Skye seemed to be affected long-term, thank goodness, but it’s really not acceptable to do that to either of you. I wonder if any of the staff from those days will ever read your account. I’d love to hear their attempts at justification.

Is a home birth with a midwife an option in Italy? I live in Washington State. I had a huge distrust of doctors and gave birth to three with a midwife at the birth center. The last two was at home with a midwife. My first was in 1998 and my last was 2010. Both of your experiences sounds third world and from the 50's in the US. I have autoimmune issues and have thought about moving to Italy since I am Catholic and you do not poison your food and life in general is more relaxed and natural. If you could share about the medical currently and if home births are fine.

Learned a lot about your personalities from what were in your bags actually. You loved your dogs and thought about their wellbeing. The tiny bit of makeup is how you care about what you look like in public and you don’t carry much because it adds weight to your bag. Carlo is a man definitely based on what’s in his bag. I do carry around my bathing suit and skinny towel every where and poop bags also.

I genuinely don’t find any of your content boring. In fact, sometimes the more basic aspects of daily life are what I enjoy most! Also, I just retuned from traveling and thought to myself, I ought to watch some KZbin’s on what’s in people’s travel bags, bc I am still not the greatest at it!

Hi Nicki, on your recommendation I looked up the Desert Drifter channel and although I haven’t watched much, I find his content fascinating. I just saw where his wife put out a video and said that he had been in a terrible accident and is in ICU fighting for his life. I just wanted to share in case you hadn’t heard.

Great podcast. Your discussion about birthing experiences was informative-glad you survived it. And the points about integrating into big Italian families-always wondered about that. Both families “ won the lottery” in gaining two beautiful, smart, multi-lingual women!

Please never put your own video down - even if it's a "frilly" one. I love your videos and enjoyed this one as well. I love to see different things in people's bags - stuff only available in certain countries, make up, mini parfum, tech bits etc. It's like sitting down with a friend doing daily stuff together - but in your case in your beautiful garden 🔆 May I suggest a video about italian dress styles for winter (Is it too windy for sunhats in Positano in the summer?)/ How to navigate the italian bus/ tram/ train system/ ticketing?/ Airport tours - what's good to know?/ All about your garden/ plants (Loved the walks around the garden you gave during Covid times!) Thank you for your work and time - I so appreciate you showing us your life ❤
