A retired Microsoft engineer said last week there are three tiers for the llama The first and third tier run smoothly. The second tier is full of bugs and runs very slowly so it's going to be another 10 years before AI can take our jobs.

Companies ask you to upload a file AND THEN to put THE SAME ANSWERS in a custom form format to get the answers they need anyway. Just exploit the form and drop the rest of the candidates from the table, easy win. That way, you're the only candidate, easy win.

Story points? I'm lucky enough that "story points" have not reached my job yet.

I remember seeing a book from the 1960's talking about how in the year 2000, computers would program themselves and programmers would have nothing to do. My 60-80 hour workweeks beg to differ.

Legit had our internet go out one time because of an issue with ISP. It was a scramble for every boss to get a new company to put in writing that their internet would never have issues, outages, or maintenance.

When you don’t invest in your own servers and people with the expertise to maintain that infrastructure you will be at the mercy of those who you rent it from- Amazon Web Service (AWS) in most cases. The cloud isn’t actually so e ethereal otherworld, its a warehouse of servers.

I'm a senior programmer with 15 years of experience and a certified scrum master. Developers really don't understand the business side of development so they get upset because "hurr durr let me code". You're building a product, not a college thesis. Story points work when they are used as they should, as a RELATIVE abstraction of complexity. They are not estimates of time, they are a TOOL to gauge priorities on the backlog. It's not about a story being X amount, it's about story A being X amount MORE than story B. Stop being crybabies about agile.

It’s not her fault that you’re dragging your feet on this project. We all know there is an omertà, a code of silence, around coding and not revealing how easy it actually is.

nahh, need coders to use deepseek or chat gpt if the code / info might be useful at all! And then would just be specific question if,and have to read through the entire code, and change from there if needed, so idk if it would be that time saving

Depends on the department? If it's practical application, it's "back end," and not required to be on HR's list for storypoints, Jira, Confluence / Atlassian, etc. If it's acquisition, or sales, or csr, perhaps it can do the HR corporate tools thing, although it'll be slower than without (which is...... 60% as effective?).

Serious thought: is it possible she uploaded a copy or part of the codebase to CGPT to get those estimates? If she did this might be a self-resolving issue, as I very much doubt she's running a local version of CGPT.
