Amazon Fire TV Black Screen

After the Amazon splash screen the tv screen is black and the controls do not work. Hold Up + rewind. In my situation it said 720/ 50Hz, and press accept. That did not work. I repeated the process Hold Up + Rewind, then auto resolution appeared and everything worked.

Yes. Thank you. I was having problems with my TV timing out due to no source, so I had to keep starting over to cycle through the resolutions. Finally worked.

I have a problem that it only works for a minute or 2 and then it turns off and it won’t even do anything unless I change the hdmi port it’s in and the outlet it’s in. Then it repeats the process

Had the same issue I fix it by doing this 1.unplug the fire stick for power usb 2.then remove battery from controller 3.plug back the power usb to the fire stick it will boot up 5.while is booting up put the battery on the fire stick control at the same time and it should work I tried all of them and this work well this happen because the fire stick is running 247 to fix the issue put the fire stick to sleep by press home button for 5 sec or going to setting my fire tv then sleep

I had to do a factory reset. Hold the right button and the back button on the remote at the same time until you get the factory reset prompt, this will erase everything it will be like a new stick. So, be warned.

If this doesnt work, unplug tv and firestick (maybe even the entire power strip if your TV and,firestick are connected to one) then plug what unplugged back it and see if it will work then. I accidentally did this and for,some reason this worked lol

I keep on searching for a video about mine. It turns on night normally, and takes a few more minutes to load all the apps. When I try to go down to KZbin, everything turns black, and you can’t take the screen off. The only way you can make the screen go away is to turn it off, and on. And it will do everything all over again. Any ideas why?

@Tiera S If you jailbroke your firestick it could be some of the apps you installed. Mine was doing it because of Tea Tv after I uninstalled that it quit doing it. Idk what your setup is or anything just sharing what my solution was, hope this might help in your case.

Trey Lovely I fixed it by unplugging my tv and fire stick for about 5-10 minutes and replugging it in aswell as changing my fire tv remotes batteries. I also restarted my router and modem all during the process. something fixed it. I hope that helps.
