I am very pleased to see that one of the four surviving Reading t1 class locomotives has been returned to service again, seeing R&N locomotive 2102 hauling a freight train is an enjoyable sight to observe as this is a representation of railroad operations during the 1940s-'50s. Reading & Northern engine 2102 is an impressive sight to see in operation and I am pleased that numerous steam locomotives are now being rebuilt/ restored and returned to service again in the modern railroading era.

I am so greatful of what Andy's railroad has done, I have actually gotten a job with his Reading & Northern... I can just tell you this that the Reading & Northern is a fantastic railroad but the stuff the company does for the community, wildlife, and our own employees it's just an awesome atmosphere here to now be a part of. Everyone here does a wonderful job especially the steam program is top notch, and is on par/equilevent with the Union Pacaifc steam program. We have passengers come from litterly all across the country and beyond just to ride our trains it truly is a wonderful feeling making so many people happy while preserving history and all this while having an awesome time on the RR...

@@gdonovan610 the high level platforms opened up in 2011 so it’s been around 14 years now as it looks like now. Interesting catch. I hope to come up to Pittson sometime and see a train pass these old wigwags. I've always wanted to see some old wigwags in action and this seems like the perfect spot since Andy Muller tries to keep his railroad as vintage as possible. Hopefully he puts wigwags in Port Clinton sometime especially to see either 425 or 2102 passing by some wigwags just like how they did back in the steam era. Thanks for sharing this interesting tape and happy railfanning.
@LibertyRailfan2 ай бұрын
Well a few months ago 2102 did have to wye here at Pittston so it did pass by the Wigwags.. I don't think he can really put wig wags in Port Clinton unless he decides to make a private crossing just north of HQ. I don't think he can put vintage crossing equipment on an actual crossing such as Broad street in PC everything needs to modernized / approved by Penn DOT/FRA for actual road crossings. On private property that's a different thing that's how was able to get the Wigwags in Pittston.
@ns4270railfan2 ай бұрын
@@LibertyRailfan Ah, okay. It's always Penn DOT or the FRA that keeps everything modern, but it's understanding because these days these modern people might not know what a swinging wigwag railroad crossing means, but back when wigwags were common, it meant that a train was coming and stop for the crossing while it was swinging. Oh well, it would be cool if wigwags can be at Port Clinton, but now I kind of understand why that at a public crossing, the equipment needs to be up to code, but I like a lot of things to be vintage. They just don't make things like they used to and it's heartbreaking that a lot of people like the newer stuff and not the old stuff. Thanks for sharing this info.
