Wow ....All the legends to in top form!! What a treat. Did lalgudi use a different violin/ different kind of violin in the early part of his career.The naada seems to be completely different.

Grand concert....however I feel one krithi of SS perhaps Mari vere gati or palinchu kamakshi would have made the concert even better... unfortunately many stalwarts don't render syama sastri krithis in all concerts....off course this view may not be relevant now ....but it's a fact.....!!!

Nothing is impossible in music for "yester-year" vidwans. As such, they would sing Syama sastri krithis as well.

Are Kuvalayabharanam and Vasanta bhairavi the same ragam? I thought Nilakanta mahadeva is in Vasanta Bhairavi (Remember Nee daya rada) but in the description it is listed as Kuvalayalabharanam. Please clarify

Who can beat Pattamma, flawless , so harmonious in Lionees of Carnatic Music , why she missed Bharata Ratna ,really I m sad about this, She never used unwanted alapanas , All in brief to common so systematic, she was so simple ,innocent and in Bangalore .Mysore she performed a d also In 1985 to nintees I was teen attended her kacheri in Bangalore Gayana samaja I touched her feet and spoke to her,I was blessed

Thank you for the fantastic upload! The KZbin description says Madras Kalyanaraman on ghatam but according to the video in the first minute listing the artists, as well as Music Academy webpage, it is Umayalpuram K Narayanaswami.

@@krrk3978 Yes. There has been a small confusion regarding the ghatam artist. Many times the artists might have been changed in the last minute due to their availability which cannot be reflected on the souvenirs. The photograph was tagged as Madras Kalyanaraman in the Music Academy books. So we went with what was photographed. Another example of this is when the souvenirs have tagged the mridangam artist as Pazhani Subramania Pillai for the 1960 Music Academy concert for both Semmangudi and Madurai Mani Iyer. But due to Pazhani’s health conditions he did not perform that season and he was replaced by CS Murugabhoopathi and Vellore Ramabhadran respectively.

In my openion there was not even a single violinist or any type of istrumentalist who can trasform the listeners in a inexplicable wòrld of imagination and iprovisation as if MSG was capable,almost as an inborn gift-' so let me maintain that thetre was no exisyance of any an exceptional genius ,before -or ,probably after MSG era Such flowers are once in a blue moon........

@@mahadevanramesh3906 no....ARI was much senior and much before this time....Ariya kudi iyengar, Chembai, Musiri were considered before this time....in fact GNB and a SSI considered ARI as their manasika guru and mostly followed his format in concerts.....!!!
