Great bodging on the fuel system, interesting as I"m about to replace fuel pump, current really skinny and long My pump and filter too are open to the elements , does worry me, need to find a cover at some point Really looking forward to next Vid and hopefully puring loads of fuel into those cylinders with a v8 song coming from exhaust

Thanks Dave, for sacrificing parts so we cn learn what not to do and save money, great informative video, I needed to do some work on mine as I thought the air filter box was held down by the Mixture screw, doh! Interesting there is quite a difference to the inlet sizing in the 4.5 and 4.7lt engines As per your previous post comments on the MPG meter on CIS systems, some more info, started on MY82, the connector looks to sit on the pivot point of MAF, I assume a potentiometer measures where it sits not sure if it connects to speedo too as per L-Jets

Curious how you're not inspired to simply do a conversion to electronic fuel injection and ignition. A lot of the old Ferrari 308's have done this with an ECU upgrade as well with increased HP and efficiency.

I think you might need to change the name of your channel. I have watched all of your videos so far and I haven't seen any bodges, just things done properly. 😂😂😂 Keep up the good work. I have a 928 S2 myself, so it's interesting to watch what you're doing.

had the same issue with my CWS...easiest way to confirm...plug in a new one...or...ground all of the pins on the black and yellow connectors going back to the dash pod..When you ground them, the light ( For whichever pin you are grounding) should light up in the cluster...if the light illuminates, most likely your CWS box needs to be replaced.

Another great video, and very nice Bodge done with visual Artfulness I even went out to my car and had a look under dash to look for the 2x buttons and potentiometer, which are there Switches work, but pot doesn't seem to do anything, so added to my list I have a UK '82 4.5lt and it has the MPG gauge which doesn't work (everything else works), I'll also need to look at one day When I turn lights on the 'Stop light' warnng light comes on, Exclamation mark is hand brake on, occaisionally on for another reason I haven't work out yet Super informative videos, keep them coming, if you need any info or confirmation don't be shy happy to assist where I can

I used k-let specialist in Aus for my WUR replacement that was newly rebuilt and calibrated. If u get the WUR and fuel distributor professionally rebuilt and calibrated and make sure they are the original part #s that came from factory you will be golden for years to come if the car is used. Also new original fuel injectors are probably needed( not the short cheaper Mercedes ones)
@DavidJohnson-nh9io
@DavidJohnson-nh9io 11 ай бұрын
Ref the injectors we will see - I have got a set of the Mercedes brass ones already so we'll see what they operate like. My final solution will be professional rebuild if I cannot do it alone. I still have some appetite for the battle..

For the lights on the dash check the three push connections under the pod, you can reach them with your fingers to give them a wiggle to see what lights up, they are known to get loose and play up, Also check the wiring box which is hidden under the drivers side left foot rest. I recently refurbed my dash console electrics over on my channel if that helps you out.

928s love clean earth points and there's a lot of them on the cars, any of which will give inop dash lights and instruments, the ribbon connectors that connect behind the binnacle need to be scrupulously clean as I'm sure you will know. Good luck.
