As we experience a crisis of competence and as rigid ideologies extinguish the pursuit of knowledge, the ending of this song hits hard. We can only coast on the achievements of those who built the world we live in today for so long. When I first heard this song as a young man, I thought to myself, "I'm glad I'll be long gone before our civilization collapses like that." Now I fear I'm watching it happen in real time.

Well, old age and all, but I'm seriously late to the party. The whole of the moon and Ship of fools had a huge part in defining my teenage years. Sad that a voice from my past disappeared without me realising.

As a generation X participant growing up as a teenager in the 1980’s I loved this song. Am I the only one from that generation that is reminded of this song every time I hear The New Radicals song ‘You Get What You Give’ on the radio?

This is so raw and immediate. I don't remember it played at early live show though, at least not the ones I attended. Regardless, I F-ing love it to this day!

"How could it come to this, I'm really worried about My creation." I think you all miss the point with your eulogies. You miss KW now that he is gone, but don't appear to understand his message. I'm a Zen Buddhist, yet I agree with this notion of Creation. If you want to honor KW's legacy, do something to assist Mother Earth. Go back and LISTEN to the song...and do something positive about it...
