"I read the news today, oh boy"... Karl Wallinger left this world, way too soon! God rest his beautiful soul. He was so gifted, talented, unique, innovative, and original, yet totally inspired by The Beatles, without even coming close to ripping off The Beatles (like so many others have done). Absolute genius, to say the least. RIP, my friend.

Wonderful track . Karl Wallinger spent a short period with the Waterboys . Karl is a fine fella from the North Wales coast , who I believe ,used to do the mixing for Mike Peters and " The Alarm " . Another great Band from the 80's . I was fortunate to see World party at The Brixton academy , and The Forum ( Town and Country Club ) back in the 90 ' S . What I loved and still love about this band , is that they were playing superb music about this fucked up world many years ago . Unfortunately , not a lot has changed . Peace everyone , and " Goodbye Jumbo " .❤️

This music uplifted me like a balloon for years and inspired my paintings, photography and my mood in general. Why we dont hear that not much anymore? Its a classic, better than 80% of the Beatles and 70% of Rolling Stones....

@@mikerichardson7101 Italia '90 was such an exciting time to be alive - just finished Uni in London, Gazza, Lineker then the old story of an old goalie who couldn't jump and the bloody Germans on penalties ! I remember seeing a video diary of some normal guys following England in a transit van and a particular morning with Floyd playing out of someone's van and the aftermath of an EXTREMELY serious party. Looked so much fun !

Never ever lose, ever because I have already won. This album, this band was such a Huge part of the soundtrack in my life For some time. Just being 20 years old ridiculously free and a huge crew of people when this came out. To live that time at that age when so much amazing sound was coming out. I and a lot of friends were cranking this album, and or tape mostly, our entire world was a part of these songs.

[Verse 1] And if you listen now You might hear A new sound coming in As an old one disappears See the world in just one grain of sand You better take a closer look Don't let it slip right thru your hand Won't you please hear the call The world says [Chorus] Put the message in the box Put the box into the car Drive the car around the world Until you get heard [Verse 2] Now is the moment Please understand The road is wide open To the heart of every man A few simple words So a mule could understand He don't want tomorrow If it's just crumbling into sand Won't you please hear the call She says [Chorus] Put the message in the box Put the box into the car Drive the car around the world Until you get heard Until you get heard [Bridge] The World says Give a little bit Give a little bit of your love to me Cos I'm waiting right here with my open arms Give a little bit Give a little bit of your soul to me Cos I'm waiting to behold your many charms Is that love in the air? She says [Chorus] Put the message in the box Put the box into the car Drive the car around the world Until you get heard Until you get heard Until you get heard Until you get heard Until you get heard R.I.P. Karl, you left some love in this world that's more than moste people do!

Kurt Wallinger pretty much created his first album by himself, although Sinead O'Conner provides some backing vocals. She is in the video for Private Revolution and Kurt helped with her debut album. Goodbye Jumbo had a band of sorts- Jeff Trott is playing the Gretsch in the video. He has had a fine career as a producer and song writer, especially in collaboration with Sheryl Crow.
