Enjoyed your drone shots of Rannoch Moor but please note that the ‘tive’ bit of ‘Etive’ is pronounced as in ‘give’, not ‘leave’.

I’m heading over to Lake Michigan tomorrow to photograph waves with 50 mph wind gusts. When ever I’ve tried this in the past it’s been so brutal that I say I’m never going to do it again. The forecast is high winds with temps around 36 degrees and rain, snow and sleet. You’ve inspired me to go back and give it another shot. Maybe a prize winner is in my future! Love your photography.

Hi Dan, I came over Paul Compton's conference video. Your channel is fantastic, mate! Bad, that smaller channels like ours are not all too good seen here on KZbin. I've subscribed, hit the bell icon and look forward to watch your upcoming videos ;) An absolutely great video about composition, by the way! Can't understand why it got 9 thumbs down. Nice greetings from Austria, Christian

When I saw that women walk into your frame, I thought please dont let that be me lol..Phew..What a great vlog, I just happened to find you while searching for locations in Northumberland. Some great images here and considering the elements you were fighting against I think you did an awesome Job. Makes me realise I dont have to put my camera away when the weather turns..

Hahaha yes there's always that chance someone I've slagged off watch a video .. and I do rant a lot lol. Thanks for the kind words. I'm a hot and miss content creator ... First started when you tube first started with various channels but as you can see I haven't posted in a year ... could be time for a comeback haha! Hope your photography is going well? Where are you based?

@@DanPearsonPhoto In Surrey, which is very boring photogenically. For various reasons its been nearly a year since I have been out to do any kind of photography. However, I am in the midst of buying a small second hand Camper Van I just need to find the right one that has, or I can put a solar panel on top to go off grid for a few days if I want. Yes, you should go back to vlogging if only to inspire people like me !! Thanks for the reply I will keep an eye out for any future Vlogs. :)

Hey Dan, any sign of any new vlogs, are you still shooting landscapes?
@DanPearsonPhoto5 жыл бұрын
I'm still alive ... Still shooting but mainly work based photos. I've been keen to out some more photographic vlogs out but I'd become tired of putting out vlogs that weren't really up to the standard I would like in terms of production quality. I've just shot a video the past week for a new car/auto channel I'm testing too which has been fun and different. Thanks for asking it's really appreciated that people still think about my vlogs or miss them :-)

@@DanPearsonPhoto I really don't like watching KZbinrs who record vlogs at the level of Hollywood production. I prefer spontaneous vlogs, that's what they should be by nature. Keep recording at least a few times a year. It's a shame to leave your good channel.

another thought: pls,. enable video stabilization... it's orfully shaky from your selfie camera.. got tired of it...
@DanPearsonPhoto5 жыл бұрын
You cannot turn on the software based stabilisation if you have auto tracking enabled. They are mutually exclusive. Also some resolutions do not offer software based stabilisation at all. The hardware stabilisation is always active.

I really find your explanations about composition to be verbally and visually clear. As I am listening to you your visuals are reinforcing what you are saying. This makes it much easier to understand and learn about composition. Keep up your excellent teaching technique as it helped reinforce some concepts I practice in my photography. As for the centering of the subject, you broke that rule but you followed enough "rules" to make the photo work. The "rules" are just concepts that have proven to be attractive to most humans over time. If you don't do things that stimulate these common human responses the photo will not garner much attention.

While I think a phone will never be able to replace a Dedicated professional camera, I do think it's pointless buying a casual point and shoot if u have a good phone

Thank you very much leandro that's a very kind compliment and genuinely very much appreciated. I am definitely slightly sporadic in creating this sort of content and perhaps need to put more effort into it which I shall try to do. I agree that quite often there's a number of videos it just breeze over the topics rather than actually trying to address them in detail.

Brilliantly done and true how the phone cameras are becoming excellent in what they do with such limited sensors. Check out acid of note 9 vs Sony A7iii it’s eye opening. Anyways thanks for sharing and I told you on Instagram I’d come and check it out 😉. Steve

Interesting Vlog Dan and the camera images on the mobile phones are getting a lot better. Bought my daughter a camera to peak her interest in photography but she never takes it out and hardly uses it. So will be looking at getting a phone with good image quality for her and likley her Christmas present :)

Just a quick video and a little walkabout. First impressions .. yes they are improving massively. I've been in some interesting meetings recently about the deployment and use of AI in cameras and tech and its both exciting and worrying .. the software processing is getting very clever at solving the obvious issues created by small sensors. In good light they already do very well .. will print something from this on one of the big commercial printers just for fun and make a video :-)
