Another longer video made of two parts. The first part see's me trying to get some super long exposure industrial shots at Drax Powerstation in Yorkshire. A little bit of click bait in the title and then a flying visit to York to visit the Christmas market (Managed to sneak a few photos whilst in York though)
In 2 parts this is a longer video and includes a lot more of my thought process as I'm shooting. It would be interested to hear if you find this useful or if this stretches out the video too much for you?
PART 2 in York starts at 17.09
Shooting at Drax starts at 2.33
First shot at 3.18
Hope you enjoy the video and I'm thinking of doing a less formal video each week as in a TV show style format which will be less technical and a bit more entertaining. Let me know what you think!

Another cracking video. I really like the style of them. I've spent many a day in York photographing it and it's always nice to hear other people's insights into a place.

Thanks Gary. Had to just squeeze in a shot or two whilst we were there but there's always lots of opportunities in York. I normally love the post glow sunset and soft light down by the river because there's some much reflection from the river, especially when it's flat. Plus lots of great angles to shoot if you wander around the city. It's just one of those places that is an absolute pleasure to photography in.

Great vid Dan, some great shots, thanks. Can I also comment on the excellent advice on dealing with security. I hope that some of those self-styled defenders of photographic freedom who go out with the apparent intent to do nothing other than create confrontation have learned something from it. They do none of us a service.

Another very interesting video, I really like how you are honest about the challenges around composition and how you have to work to get your shot. Great family shots at the end and, as I think I would expect from you, very generous to another photographer.

Thanks Mark. I always appreciate good talent and hadn't realised Dennis was still taking photo's. We used to be on one of the UK photography websites probably 8 or more years ago and it was great to see the stand doing well in York. Some great work on display. Probably rambled on a little bit too much in this one .. finding the balance between being informative and entertaining is an ongoing problem lol .. I think I'm going to do a weekly episode of less serious photographic nonsense just to get it out of my system :-)

DanPearsonPhoto I can't say I noticed any 'rambling' and I've got a very low rambling tolerance, I find listening to other photographers thoughts around their compositions fascinating.

VERY NICE SHOTS! First time I was in York was July 1981. I remember the huge organ in the Cathedral. Take care - Hubert/D

Thanks Hubert. A really pleasant few days ... I love York. I had some great shots from inside there some years ago when they had removed all the seating and the place felt and looked even bigger and more impressive!

Thanks Iain. A lot of snapshots in this one really but it was fun to make the video and there were a few of the power station shots which I was happy with. I love York though .. so many opportunities for great images. I haven't shot seriously at York for a long time so I may have to get back in the coming months and give it some serious attention photographically speaking :-)

Thanks for your feedback. It's always a trade off for me between giving enough information and insight into thought process and not rambling on too long! lol.
