This is specifically for men, since for women it's different. What about seeing how attractive can the women who show you romantic interest get. So if from the pool of interested women, the most attractive are sixes. Then your probably a six or close to it. If 9 or 10's make up the most attractive women who show you interest then your probably a 9-10. Dating is cool too but there's alot of reasons why you might not end up with someone similar to you.

Had braces from age 13 to age 21 plus orthognathic surgery to correct the under-development of the upper jaw (so technically, everything was done for primarily practical reasons; teeth alignment along with other reasons). The change in facial attractiveness is staggering, legitimately. I'm not a 10 by any means, but ever since that surgery I've felt so much more confident in my face and smile. This is EXACTLY what happened to me despite being very thin I had a very round short face and fixing my overbite with Invisalign made it much more harmonious and longer but I stayed on the same aligner for over a month and now my face went back but started again and it’s looking better again so I’m afraid it may just be temporary 😢

I remember from some show in the BBC (I think?) ages ago that a research suggested that, towards a phase of the period cycle, I think it was towards the menstruation phase, women preffered more feminine-looking faces, and that towards the ovulation phase, or whatever is the complementary-"middle" phase against menstruation in the cycle - they preffered more masculine-looking faces. Or the other way around. I don't know to explain why, but it makes sense to me for it to be tied to the cycle, even though I have zero knowledge on how well this study was conducted and reviewed, and I don't have a student account to look at it properly so...
