So basically, they skipped 2(because of the 3g craze), they did “S” half generations for a while, they skipped 9 and lumped 8 in with 10. Then 10S, and since then it has been stable.

Since then it has been stable, but the numbers are off. Loads of people think iPhone 16 = 16th iPhone or 16 years of iPhone, both of which are wrong 😅

I got all the generations (17, now 18) but I didn't list every model (now 46). So for example, the iPhone 13, 13 mini, 13 Pro, 13 Pro Max, and 2022 SE are five different models all within the 15th generation.

@@jacquesoss8900 Yes it does, which is why that’s as far back as I went in this video. The generation before the XR was the X and 8, which only supports up to iOS 16.
