RCS would only effect text messaging, and not video calls. However, it is technically already possible to FaceTime with Android and Windows users, although it isn’t quite the same experience. In the FaceTime app, you can click “create link,” and then share that link with an Android on PC user, and they can join the FaceTime call from a web browser.

That would be a great feature, and you would think an upgraded Siri could handle that type of request.

@@Jack_the_pngtuber you can’t schedule messages yet, although it would be a nice added feature. And even if it wasn’t built into Messages, I would expect a smarter Siri to be able to handle that. We shall see!

I’d be very surprised. There’s a chance they don’t do it at WWDC (although it seems very likely they will), but the next iPhone looks like it’ll be focused on AI. Although I could also see Apple’s marketing team creating their own name for AI lol

Haha what do you mean by that question? The best way to text an Android user is to use a messaging service other than the “Messages” app on iPhone. But most people (myself included) don’t do that. Once RCS is supported, the experience of texting an Android user from the default Messages app will be MUCH better. Can’t wait!

I didn't realize how many times I said "Siri" until I was editing it - and I do think they've gotten better with voice recognition, so I probably wouldn't have triggered many devices. Apologies if I triggered you instead 😅 And honestly, we don't know a whole lot about iOS 18 yet. I'll be able to go much more in-depth once it's announced and released. Hardware announcements like the iPhone 16 we know A LOT more about. So I should be able to dive deeper in that rumor recap video. Thanks for the comment!
