I said dumb things and got another article my commander was spreading false information to bh in order to get me a bad character discharge. I attempted suicide twice. After the second they sent dudes in my room to proxy clear me. They lost my gear and said I had to pay for it.

I think the military is designed for discrimination. Almost everything can disqualify you or get you kicked out, but the decision is left up to people who are flawed to make decisions on whether you deserve a chance or not. Most people are not very intelligent and should not have control over another person’s future. We all know, that systematically, some people are more harshly judged than others. Most of the people deciding you aren’t worthy of a chance have done things 1,000x worse than you, but because of skin color they are excused.

I never reported him, and at my age now (65)I regret that. My concern is it prob still continued to happen to other females. But I was young and scared and it was in 1985. I thought and prayed we were getting better in the military. However, like all professions there are dogs and I guess it will always happen. The deal is the Leadership needs to be supportive of these claims. I’m sick for you…esp as an officer. Please keep fighting and know that God has your back in the long run and He will never leave you nor forsake you. To the extent that you allow Him to guide you I know you will end up with justice on your side! The abuser deserves to be the one being separated, not you! Another reason is his drinking issues…however that is def the climate in the military for most. I quit drinking a few years after I got out when I became a mom, and have been sober and clear for 33 years. Make sure you have all your medical papers and other documentation(I know you do, but as a mom and grandmom I have to “make sure” you’ve got it all together for the fight. I’d tell you the same if you were one of mine…and in a way, you are, you are my fellow Army sister. 🫡 🇺🇸Fight for your career, you’ve worked too hard! Fight for yourself mostly! And fight for your benefits. My husband and I are both army vets and I’ll tell you, idk where we’d be if we didn’t have our VA insurance. Love you my girl and praying for you rn! 🙏🏼🇺🇸
