Good morning Omniel: First, as always, I want to "Thank You" for taking the time to record, edit and post this mornings video for all of us to enjoy 🙂 Just so you know, I watch each of your weekly videos, start to finish, and I try to make at least one meaningful comment concerning the content. Grey bellows note: After sending multiple messages to "Gemini" concerning the grey bellows with no response... I believe I found the same product from Walmart for $3.57 - Brand Name / Sailesiti - Silicone Retention Bellow Compatible for Zero Coffee Grinder - grey. I ordered one and received it a few days ago, it looks and works perfectly. I use round paper filters on the bottom of my portafilter and a puck screen on the top. Since I flush the paper filters using my group head, I accomplish flushing the head and the paper filter at the same time before each use. As mentioned, I also always flush my group head after pulling each espresso shot using a blank basket. I received my DAK - Milky Cake beans order on Friday (roasted on Jan 21st). I'll be letting them rest for another week or so before giving them a try, so I'll provide my comments in a few weeks. FYI - I'm mostly back to feeling like my old self, our roadways are finally cleared of the snowfall from a couple weeks back and we can actually see grass again in a few small areas on our property. We completed our reservations for our trip to Oregon this past week - Airlines, rental car, and room, PLUS I received an email response from a message I sent to "Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm. We managed to purchase four - Single Use Flex Tickets @ $20.00 each. They are each good for a Single-Visit Access: Valid for one individual, allowing entry once from 5 AM until sunset on any day during the festival dates. No Reservations Required: Arrive at your convenience, even on sold out days-just have your ticket ready to scan at the gate. Two for us and two for our grand daughter and her significant other. This will hopefully allow us a better opportunity to visit the tulip farm on a nice sunny day, rather than taking the chance by buying one of the $17.00 specific date & time, daily tickets ahead of time. Our grand daughter is planning on taking a few vacation days so we can spend time together. She is already busy scheduling a few special excursions... one I'm looking forward to is to visit a somewhat secluded ocean cove where we will see several thousand different species of starfish and it's located only a half-hour drive from her residence. Per your suggestions... we're hoping to visit Cannon Beach and Multnomah Falls and you already knew we plan on driving to Mount Hood and check out Timberland lodge. I'll probably check out a few coffee shops here and there plus VooDoo Donuts to fill that special niche in my sweet tooth 🙂 Take care my friend and I hope you enjoy a great week ahead, Kerry

I'm glad to know that you have your trip all squared away, I'm sure it will be lots of fun. I can't wait to hear what you think of the DAK coffee. Pretty soon we get going on the Kentucky videos, I can't wait for you to see a little of what we did. While visiting Portland, keep an eye out for the little tiny coffee houses. Usually they are in the parking lot of strip malls, and you can find them all over town. Try a couple. It's fun driving up, and getting a coffee from usually an enthusiastic barista. Hey Omniel, thanks for another great video! Glad to see we're back to the usual full-length format. Also, nice music this week, her vocals are hauntingly mesmerising. Is is convenient for you to reveal who the artist is? Excited to find out what's new for your channel in 2025 mate, you never left us a clue at the end...😅

@jowyong6769 Good morning Jason. As to the Artist, all of my music comes from Epidemic Sound. That is a service that I need to pay for. The artists that Epidemic Sound features, are paid by the folks like myself, paying for the rights to use the music. If I can easily find this particular artist name, I will provide it. I’ll have to go back and watch the agent 99 one. That is my current fave for my oatmilk latte right now. I just love the color of it. Reddish brown. I haven’t tried the house nation as an espresso but I will as soon as I’m done with agent 99. I really enjoy your videos. 😊

I can't speak for espresso, as I haven't made that experience yet, but for pourover I think the difference between grinders can be huge. My 078s has more of an aromatic body. All of that body is completely forwarded as vibrant flavor on the pietro. On the zp6 it is all very mild. Nice video. I tend to watch your videos on the side while playing games (but I do pay attention). I think many of those views that turn off quickly might be bots?

@brmbltbr4 Hello my friend, and thank you for taking the time to write the comment. 🤔 You made me laugh with the bot thing 😅, but I wonder if perhaps you're on to something. As to the grinders, it's probably just me, maybe my taste buds are not developed to that level yet. I've made the experiment several times, and I've failed at tasting a clear difference between grinders. Maybe soon I'll record another comparison. Take care, and thank you for your support. 🤗

@@OmnielCapote Maybe try comparing in a cupping. I've found the differences become more apparent as you give the coffee time to cool down. That being said, brewing as a pourover actually shows the difference more then cupping imo. Maybe the grinders you compared were just not that different?

Great video sir! What filter have you been using in your Origami? I really enjoy using Kalita flatbed filters in mine. Probably do about a dozen pour-overs a week with that setup.

I’m super happy I recommended Dak because I knew you would enjoy it. I’ve been really digging PERC lately, and they’re out of Atlanta. The Ethiopians and Colombians were unreal. The Ethiopian was anaerobic, and it tasted like a straight blueberry bomb. It was the first time I ever described blueberry flavor in an Ethiopian.

As for your comment about hoping we enjoy your video, get a laugh or find it entertaining - I ALWAYS enjoy you videos because I feel they bring out your special friendly personality. This is the second time I watched you discuss the DAK - Milky Cake coffee beans. I checked the price the first time and refrained from ordering due to the rather high total cost once I added the shipping costs. As I watched you discuss the Milky Cake this time I re-visited the site and went ahead and ordered a bag due to your comments. Hopefully I'll enjoy it as much as yourself... based on my past experiences I have some doubt, but either way, since I know I can't take it with me when I depart this life, I figure I might as well try to enjoy the rest of my life to the fullest... 🙂 I may even purchase a bag of the Agent 99 and perform the same tasting experiment as yourself? I'll let you know what I think about the DAK beans in a few weeks. I recently purchase agent 99 for my morning lattes and it’s my all time favorite! I can’t get over the color for one. The reddish hue is beautiful! There’s a savory component to it as well that I really like. If you’re a milk based espresso drinker I’d highly recommend it. (Or cortado😉) I too tried it as a pour over just yesterday and I do like it. Very traditional tasting. I’m finding out third wave coffee is interesting to me but not my daily driver. Milky cake is just ‘different’. Very unique. My first impression,much like yours, was ‘what is that’? lol. I couldn’t pin point what I was tasting. Ive never had chamomile tea so maybe I’ll buy some and see if that’s what I’m tasting too.

I've tried countless gourmet coffees, and so far, Lavazza is the nicest. Really strong, little acidity, thick mouth feel, rich, and spicy. It is an outstanding coffee.

Thanks for another video Omniel. Your attention to detail when sharing these brewing sessions is commendable. I would like to suggest to move the steam wand a bit out of the way while brewing the espresso for the machine shot timer to be visible. My Bianca is the black one and I also find it easy to keep clean. My only gripe is that I get some water spillage out of the drip tray when I use the hot water spout to rinse the puck screen after a shot and some water goes onto the lip on the inside of the tray that holds the grille. Not sure if you have also experienced that. Anyway, thanks again and have a great week!

As to the water spout, I've never noticed a problem, but than again, I only use it to heat up the puck sometimes. I rinse it in the sink next to me. @brmbltbr4 I've heard that from a couple of folks. If you are enjoying the workflow, than by all means, go for it. One question, once you dump the grounds on to the portafilter, do you just tamp, no matter how it lands? I tried it, but I didn't enjoy it. Plus, the grounds would just land in all sorts of ways. It probably was just my poor technique. However, I can do anything about not enjoying it. 🤷♂️

Regarding Temu... yes, there is a lot stuff you can buy there. 😂 Some is 💩, some is awesome... bought a lot, while waiting for my Bianca (you'll have to be ready when the Lady is arriving). Omniel, I don’t think you can completely bypass the gimmicks presented to you in such creative ways by the Temu app or web portal. It might be a cultural thing-some populations seem to enjoy that kind of experience. Then again, it’s something that could probably be controlled or customized within the user profile settings. You’re absolutely right about the $15 minimum order-it’s part of their policy. I mainly use Temu for inexpensive t-shirts and similar items, especially ones with funny quotes or quirky drawings. You’re pretty bold for considering their products for food use, though. Personally, I wouldn’t go there. Who knows? There might be chemicals or metals that shouldn’t be in those items-I don’t want to speculate, but I’d rather play it safe. Not trying to sound negative, just cautious. That said, I agree-the prices are tempting. Oh, and have I mentioned how much I love the Milky Cake from DAK? It’s amazing!

Hahaha! A mooncake?! It's traditionally consumed during what we call the Mid-autumn Festival, which is celebrated all around the Asian world to commemorate the end of the autumn harvest. Mooncakes played a major role in the liberation of Yuan China (1206-1341 CE) from the Mongols in the 14th century. Despite a prohibition against large gatherings, rebel leader Zhu Yuan Zhang was able to instigate a rebellion by placing secret messages in mooncakes. The rebellion took place during the Mid-autumn Festival. Here in Singapore, it is enjoyed by pretty much everyone. Traditionally, mooncakes are filled with white lotus paste but these days, many iterations of it exist including matcha, red bean, salted egg yolk, lychee martini and Champagne truffle amongst others. Not a big fan of these more creative types of mooncakes though. Agree about the white Bianca, very easy to clean with it's powder-coated surface. Just a quick wipe will do 👍

Good morning Omniel: I believe Lance Hedrick uses a handless pitcher similar to the one you purchased from Temu. I enjoyed your video this morning even though I feel terrible... I've got a cold that has really knocked me down to the point that I haven't done much of anything for the past two days other than coughing, sneezing, and lying around feeling miserable 😞 The weather certainly hasn't helped to raise my spirits either. For the past week our temps have been hovering between 5 F - 30 F, mostly cloudy grey skies with around 10" of total snowfall on the ground since last Sunday. It may look pretty but it's not any fun to have to shovel off drives and walkways or to drive anywhere. That's all from me for this week... I think I may go back to bed, Kerry

Good morning my friend ! I’ve never heard of Temu until now. Just downloaded it and searched coffee drippers and the list is never ending! Amazingly cheap as well. Since going decaf my interest in coffee has waned a little but I feel so much better so all good. I’m getting good results with the hoop brewer I got for Christmas and it’s good that you can use the Aeropress filters in it. All the best mate

Thanks for the video, I have a great coffee roaster near me, but when I seek variety I use two Apps - Lazada & Shopee, both have a great selection of fresh beans. On a shopping note, do get your hands on a spring-loaded tamper through Temu to make your coffee journey easier. Because the one with the most coffee toys wins!

Great tour around Miami and the Big Face shop. My favorite coffee for espresso based drinks for over three years was a blend of Columbian and Guatemalan beans. Why were you thinking the coffee you ordered from BF was not going to be that good when you found out it was a blend? Great hat, by the way!!

Good morning Omniel: I'm a bit late to the party this morning... it's now 10:30 am and I normally watch your videos around 7:30 but this morning I finally got around to completing the James Hoffman coffee tasting project. This was my actual first attempt at a true coffee tasting and while I did find it interesting, I can say it was mostly a failure for my old taste buds 😞 I could actually tell the difference in the tastes of the various decaffeination processes. Based on my preference of this particular bean, I preferred the Swiss Water Decaf process. Thanks for sharing your video of this morning of the downtown Miami area. I've been to the Miami area twice... first time to visit Miami Beach on vacation when I was much younger and the second time was a rather brief daytime visit that lasted several hours simply to view a bit of the city up close while traveling through on my way down to Key West. Glad you enjoyed your BigFace pour-over... hopefully you'll enjoy the beans you purchased just as much. As for your cool weather... I would've certainly enjoyed those 70 degree temps. That sounds perfect for shorts & short sleeves while walking around the city. As of this moment we're experiencing a heavy fall of small snow flakes and 23 degree temps. The local forecast is calling for up to 8" of the white stuff followed by around 1/2" of ice. Our temps are supposed to drop into the low single digits all next week so if that happens the pretty white stuff will be here to stay for awhile. That will certainly make the driving a bit dicey in many areas. As for me, I don't plan on being outside for any reason other than to let our little dog (Sassy) out to do her business. Thanks once again for providing us with another unique coffee experience this morning and I hope you enjoy a wonderful week ahead. However, to me it sounds like you did very good. I agree about 70 with low humidity being pretty wonderful. If there is no breeze, and you are out in the Sun, than I guess shorts and a t-shirt will do. As to the temperature right now in Kentucky, it's fun for a little while, if you're wearing appropriate clothing ❄️❄️❄️. Nice day for Irish coffee ☕️ 😀 . Take care Kerry. Thanks for showing us your neck of the woods Omniel! What a lovely, tranquil place to live with wide open spaces and low-rise buildings where you can see the sky. As for the city...Man, you weren't kidding about the bad traffic and difficult parking situation! 😱 Great advice to navigate directly to one of the parking garages and walk from there. In Singapore, traffic can actually be worse but parking's relatively easy to find as most buildings have an attached multi-story car park.
