I heard the divorce rate is very low because of their faith...that is very interesting for me because I value marriage. If the marriage suffers...the entire family does.

if you ever notice people in Croatia stare at you 'cause you have different colour of skin,do not think it is something bad..in Croatia we do not have many people of different colour so it is something, let's say, exotic to see for alot of people here. Croatians are very open and welcoming people as long as you are normal.

I’m wondering why are you saying you’re the only brown person? First half of Dalmatia is darker than you. Second; there’s tens of thousands Filipinos, Nepalese and Indian workers in Croatia and I can’t go a day without seeing darker people than you like 50 times. Americans and their focus on skin color..

If you learn the Alphabet really well, then you can spell, read, write and speak anything, because you spell everything exactly the way it sounds and you say it exactly the way it sounds! No double letters, no silent letters, no words that mean two different things...etc...

I felt judged somewhat when I was in Croatia but I’m a kinda loud colorful person (i wear bright colored clothes and most in Croatia wear darker colors) They would stare and it felt intimidating but I believe it’s cultural differences. All that being said, I absolutely loved Croatia and was sorry to leave.

As an American, I understand what you mean about cashiers etc. being friendly, because we're used to that. (at least in some parts of the country!) But having worked in jobs like that, I also know what it cost me to be that friendly, even when I was having a bad day. It's very draining and so much extra work to be that personable to strangers. Myself, and anyone I know that has worked with the public, are completely burned out and scarred for life from these jobs! I've learned not to take it personally when people in different countries simply want to do their jobs without draining the life out of themselves by smiling to every single customer and acting thrilled to be serving them. It's hard enough to do the job without putting on an act for others! And after all, the main reason you have to be so friendly in this country is so the customers keep coming back. It's all about the profit motive, and the CEO's of these large companies don't care how drained the little guy is that slaves for customers all day!

I’m 32 and been single most of my life with only one relationship that lasted 6 months when I was 26. I’ve always been the type to want to find a life partner but most people my age doesn’t seem to want to settle and commit to one person yet and they like to participate in casual sex, which I am not comfortable doing. I have a lot of love to give and I am praying that the wait will all be worth it. I definitely get that gut wrenching hollow feeling from time to time, despite being happy with myself and what I have already. The frustrating part is seeing my friends achieving their marriage and family goals , which I am extremely happy for them, but sometimes I do think to myself “when will it be my turn god ?” 😅. It sometimes hard to take your mind off it and you ask yourself questions that you clearly cannot answer like “who, when, whyyyy, how will it happen, etc…” Thank you for sharing your story and giving some of us hope and inspiration.

You guys are awesome. SN: The beaches in Florida are pretty nice; I highly recommend Naples, FL or Palm Beach, FL. I would be dumbfounded if Croatia's beaches are better than those. :-)

It may seem at first that people in Croatia are not friendly, but when you become friends with someone, that friendship goes very deep, which is the opposite in America, I think, as far as I've heard from Americans! In America, people at first seem cheerful and very frendly, but actually it ends there!

As a Croat who moved to America I’d say the American lifestyle is very dependent on where you move to. Miami is very very similar to Croatia in that people enjoy life a lot. New York is more where you go to make a fortune. In Croatia we do enjoy life but because economy is bad many of us leave for years to work in Germany, Netherlands etc. but I’d say in America you have places where it’s also laid back. I went to Idaho and was shocked how they lived. No Americans want to go to Idaho because it’s not California to New York so again I’d say it’s like Europe. Croatia and Germany are not the same

Honestly this makes sense, that for at least most Christians couples it should be enough around 5 dates to really know if this is from God. I’m not married yet, but i wouldn’t wanted to date too much before marriage.

Trying to find a woman at church is becoming impossible, then you have these girls/ women coming back, or to the church for the first time after they have run through 2 dozen guys in their early 20’s, and then they want to be tradwives. On the opposite end you have these homeschooled cloistered girls at church that have never dated much less talked to guy (other than maybe a brother or their dad?) You approach and talk to them, and you get the impression they’re interested, so you ask them out , they freak- out, so they avoid you after that( like you killed their cat or something?), I'm done - They had a singles night at church - and not one guy showed up - I don't blame them.
