That was a proper restoration! My own 2CV in the UK has had a similar restoration; most of the work was done professionally, so it was not cheap. Luckily all parts are available for the 2CV. Mine is the same colour too, plus the same electronic ignition; drove it last week. Not sure about the red roof though- mine has the correct blue. Surprised the chap did not use a mask at first while spraying paint. Vive la marque!

@PhilipSiddall thank you! Yes the roof color was my choice , usually I fully respect the originality, but for the 2cv, I decided to have a unique and recognizable car. Also I wanted a more modern look and the 1986 “blue Celeste “ was too sad and fade…so Even the body has been painted with Citroen’s color but not a color of the proper year. :-)

because you can only choose the royalties free music available on KZbin, that is all like that. anyhow the audio can be turned off, what is important is the video content.

Greetings from greece and happy new year. I need help with something. I have order a weather seal rubber for b pillar and one black bracket for the door and one metal collor bracket for the b pillar. If i attach the rubber with the bracket on the b pillar with rivets and (not attached to the door with the black bracket) my door closes ok. If i attach it with both brackets on the door and the b pillar my door is not closing... Wich way is the right to do? Because i suppose that it must be attached to both door and b pillar

Happy new year to you too. Yes you need to use both, rubbers and metal streeps. if your door doesn't close, is because the metal streep is mounted in the wrong way. if you want I can send you a detailed picture of them...

Nie wieder Citroën! Bei meinem 8 Jahre alten GS war es unmöglich noch irgendeine Schraube zerstörungsfrei zu entfernen. Das gesamte Fahrzeug bestand nur noch aus Rost oder Löchern! EinArmutszeugnis der Automobilindustrie!

Ich weiß nicht, ob die GS und die noch älteren DS nach 70 Jahren noch fahren. Und die Traktion nach 90! Ich habe auch einen volkswagen Käfer 1971, und musste es komplett neu machen, weil es ein Rostsieb war...

Such a pity, I would have loved to see the fantastic work you do, and even subscribe, but the music is completely ruining what should be mostly a visual experience with repair noises. It's like being in a dancing and watching a television with the sound muted. I go find me another channel.

Sorry but I didn't measure it before mounting and I cannot answer you now. But I try to be helpful anyway telling you the Citroen part number for this part: 5420184. You can find it easily putting this number on the web. The only advise: check first if your model needs them. 2CV6 for sure. Bye.

@citro-garage Thanks for replying.I have 2cv6 1986. I ve restoring it for 1 year now. i was having i bit of a problem with brakes...when car is parked if i push it with hands its hard to push and you can hear the brakes engaging..so i disassemble the brakes and iam waiting for new seals and pistons but i realise that i was missing these shims after i ve make the order. Shipping to reorder these shims isn't an option cause is too expensive. I can see some marks on the aluminium case indicating the form of the shims so i assume that they were in place long ago and someone missed them.if iam correct they are 2mm thick so i will put in place some washers 2mm or i will try to make some if i make a draw from the old marks

Il est difficile de répondre à vous parce que je fais tout seul, donc je ne peux pas prévoir les coûts de main-d’œuvre. Ensuite, le coût varie beaucoup, en fonction du nombre de pièces de rechange nécessaires. Cependant, à l’exclusion de la main-d’œuvre, les coûts de peinture, pièces de rechange, rectification du moteur, matériaux de revêtement, matériaux divers, on peut estimer entre 10 et 15 k euros pour faire un bon travail.

I cannot help it, but the date printed on the old seat foam (@ 42:18) looked clearly like 1957! Are the seats older than the car?

No, No, the video can be misleading, the date seen closely is 3 March 1967, same year of the car.
