No doubt about it Montauk is a beautiful park lots of fun. Went down yesterday and caught 3 over 2 pounds 2.7 a 2.4 and a 2.3. Still no lunker but my yellow gold tinsel jig still catches them for me everytime. Awesome video Aaron and thanks for fishing with me that day it was fun.

For sure, maybe e you can show me how to make em next time I come down. We love having you involved. We have some big ideas for the video next year, and hope you can be involved!

ok i was thinking of a different Montauk and wonder, we have sea run browns on Long Island. Great catches btw.

Haha, yes, I have stumbled across your Montauk by mistake a few times as well LOL... I would love to do some coastal foraging out your way some day

Second video I’ve watched, 4:45 minutes in and I’m already trying to figure out when y’all will be there next so I can join😂😂 I live in Saint Louis so Montauk and Bennett are my babies.

Sounds like you sir, are not afraid of a good time! I love bennet too, Nianagua just outside park is one of my fav spots in MO. We usually do the annual montauk trip late July or early Aug, but still have not hammered out the date yet

Love your weight calculations for competitor's fish
@reliablyrandomoutdoors7 ай бұрын
Haha, yeah pretty funny cause one of the dbags told me the fish was 1lb 17 oz and I actually repeated it without thinking during the intro…. First time I caught it u see me stutter and repeat it as 2lb 1oz in the video……. The laughs are endless there LOL and then boots at the end is just classic boots!

Hey man, whenever you’re throwing those tiny jigs like you were throwing on the last day, do you use a weight with them as well? If so, how far from the jig do you put the weight and what size?
@reliablyrandomoutdoors2 ай бұрын
no usaully no weight, so 2 or 1lb line is the only way to get them to cast.... not saying i wouldnt throw a split shot on for certain circumstances but for the most part the split shot will kind of mess up the action of the jig.... always best to try to throw em with just their own weight if possible.

@@reliablyrandomoutdoors right on thanks I’ll be trying out those soon. I’m watching your big trout battle from last year where you’re talking to Kevin. Three old dudes have talked about catching big trout on golden/yellow jigs… I know who I’m listening too next time I’m there!!
@reliablyrandomoutdoors2 ай бұрын
@@itsoledan Oh for sure! Kevin is an absolute well of knowledge on fishing in parks like that! not very many times i stand by a person fishing with the same lure as me and get absolutely schooled. Im hoping to make a better video about his technique,
@itsoledan2 ай бұрын
@@reliablyrandomoutdoors I’ll gladly watch all the technique and Kevin content. He explains it real simply too which is nice.

@@itsoledan LOL! This is Kevin. Thanks for the compliments, it took years to accomplish techniques I use but all I can say is us old timers can still school the young pups at times. Aaron is fun to fish with but as he said in his message he got schooled. I left that day with 4 fish over 2 pounds and that doesn't happen every time but it sure is fun. Good luck trout fishing!

Are there rules about keeping raw chicken livers in your boots or pant pockets?
@reliablyrandomoutdoors7 ай бұрын
Haha, you would have to ask your wife about that set of rules LOL…. I will say though that more than once I have forgotten a sculpin in my vest pocket, and wow…. It smells like death ☠️

Weren't there secret military mind control experiments at Montauk? The Phoenix Project?
@reliablyrandomoutdoors7 ай бұрын
Well I’m no expert on government mind control projects but maybe that’s just how they want it….. 🤔

Have you ever thought about fishing in the tail waters of Wolf Creek Dan in Kentucky? It has some giant trout in it.
@reliablyrandomoutdoors2 ай бұрын
Actually, never heard of it before now, however, I’m closer to Kentucky than Missouri. I live in Indiana. I did the green river in Kentucky a few years ago did a 60 mile survival trip and I absolutely loved it. I’ll check out Wolf Creek. I’m always looking for new places to go. Thanks for the info.
@reliablyrandomoutdoors2 ай бұрын
Ok Im a little confused, so from what i can tell there is a Wolf creek in Kentucky with no dam on it, but there is a cumberland river in kentucky with a wolf creek dam on it???? is that later the one you are referring too? I assume due to the fish hatchery there that must be the one.... still a little confused about that though LOL
