the Tatra cogwheel railway! Short but intense! beautiful new carriages! Swiss Stadler technology! I made popcorn and devoured it before the train went back up, so much so that the video was interesting! I also wanted to say another thing that was more related to the other video: the design of the Poprad Tatry station is particular and recalls if you go to see that of the Swiss station of Arth-Goldau with the Rigi railway that goes up just like the TEZs go over the Tatras! Always speechless!

1000 millimetre narrow gauge track, 1500 VDC supply voltage. Von Roll was used until 2020. After the rebuilds in 2020-2022, the track is operated with the Strub rack rail system.

Today I was in the mountains, and on my way back from Štrbské Pleso to Poprad-Tatry, the train I was on stopped at Štrbské Pleso. My ticket stated that I needed to transfer from OS 8015 to OS 7847, but when I got there, no other train was available. I waited at the time indicated on the ticket, but nothing happened. Eventually, I took train 611 to Poprad-Košice and made it home. This situation didn’t happen just to me but also to other passengers. How can such a problem be resolved in the future?

That was an interesting ride. Mind you, a rack rail system does limit the top speed to 35 km/h (22 mph) at most in many cases across Europe.

About 2 feet above the base the catenary poles there is a small white dome like box with a cable attached towards the railbed. Does someone know what that box is and what does it do?
