I specifically made a character just to turn it into a Viera, only find that it doesn't show up in mog station and my original first character got deleted because I decided against it's class for now. So I can't use mog station now. 😢Not sure what I've done wrong but it's been a week and I'm still stuck in catboy hell. Not that that's a bad thing.

There will always be good with that bad. Most of my bad experiences have been with the RP community, though One roughly ten years ago when I was 18... I was... living in a not great home environment and someone... for lack of a better term, took advantage of me. I've never been a fan of ERP and he... just kinda pushed it on me... never asked if I was okay with it, and I didn't know how to say "no," since... bad home life. Dude is 9 years older than me and admitted to me that he could *tell* I was uncomfortable by it Then of course, more recently, was the one guy who took RP conflict too far, refused to stop harassing my character even when I blacklisted him *and* blocked him on discord... and was the reason why I was isolated from two different RP communities But despite this, I've met some wonderful people (whom I am still friends with a few years later) and, my favourite part: I met my fiancé through this game. And that is certainly something I will always be grateful for ♥

FFXIV has a great community, if you manage to get one foot through the door. I've met a lot of wonderful ppl here (especially during my PF times around E5-E8S when I first started raiding) and I've found a lot of irl friends I've been hanging with ever since. But I've also experienced quite a lot of really fucked up shit in my time here (ingame stalking, ab*se, DV of someone else ending in stalking of myself as a third party, irl stalking of a friend of mine, death threats, misogyny, racism, hatespeech against LGBTQA+ folk, the list goes on). Women get the brunt of it, but don't think you're safe because you play a male character, because I sure as hell haven't been. There are a lot of people here who are absolutely incapable of conflict management or healthy communication with other breathing individuals, opting to rather spread rumors or talk smack to anyone but the person(s) involved than, god forbid, sit down and talk things through. So, to any new players, I really recommend you keep in mind that this community, while over all quite positive and soothing, has bad apples just like any other community does. Don't get blinded by its stellar reputation, and always look out for yourselves. And, as a long time raider, mid to hardcore: most of us welcome anyone new! Try Savage if you think it might be for you. Don't be scared off by the loud yappings of a few. You're the ones bringing fresh air into the scene. And there is nothing more fun than seeing new time raiders enjoying themselves in these harder difficulty fights! Good to have you on board ;D
