How do you find the rod? Would you go for a heavier duty one like the ‘todos’ next time or does it feel like it could handle bigger fish? Thanks
@FISHINGWITHCAL3 күн бұрын
Sorry, in the video I said the rod was rated 15-30g. Its actually 15-60g. I also have the 30-100g version so to answer your question, no. Personally, I have no need for the "Todos" version of this rod. The expanse will handle any UK fish from the shore all day long 💪🏻

Great video, nice to see catch n cook, do you gut the fish at the beach or only if your freezing them?
@FISHINGWITHCAL3 күн бұрын
Hi mate, I gutted the fish off camera. Sometimes I'll do it on the beach as it's easier to discard the guts etc. I'll never freeze a fish for eating with the guts in no.

Once again You showed me what I miss the Most Shore fishing in the Celtic sea What about targeting bream with lures? Or only Natural baits? I wait for the next one 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Tight lines
@FISHINGWITHCAL3 күн бұрын
Bream on lures is actually quite a tricky thing to do in UK waters. The best method will be using LRF gear and very small metals. Light float gear for bream is excellent fun, they don't mess about when they hit a bait! I'll be out soon targeting bream with prawns so hopefully that'll be successful! Get into that celtic sea mate, the fish are waiting for you! Thanks 👍🏼

Really enjoy the CnC vids, and that looks a great simple fish curry to knock up. Q: You mentioned that Thai curries are a balance between salty, sour, and sweet but I didn’t see you put any sugar or honey in at all, let alone ‘more sugar’ if needed. Did the sugar go in off camera ? Keep doing the CnC vids, they are particularly enjoyable and satisfying to watch.

So pleased you show cook as well as catch, but for me get rid of the ketchup and perhaps a tad of oyster sauce and sesame oil rather than coconut oil ? Still a joy to watch .
@FISHINGWITHCAL11 күн бұрын
@@kevinfuters7568 Coconut oil is a lot healthier, plus it gives a nicer flavour to a thai curry. Sesame oil is better used in Chinese cooking. Oyster sauce doesn’t belong in any Thai curry in my option. As far as the ketchup goes, it adds a little sweetness to the paste and also a slight twang of tomato. Thanks for the comment though 👍🏼

Just back from a fortnight on the West Coast of Scotland and caught plenty of Mackerel. Had some smoked in a toasted bun like this for breakfast, but wasn’t sure why I had the idea stuck in my head then realised I had seen this vid earlier in the year so must have been subconsciously inspired. Toasting the bun makes a difference, and I prefer horseradish to spicy sauce. Must say, stood on the rocks looking over to the small isles in the late afternoon sun with a craving for tomorrow’s breakfast felt very satisfying when the mackerel started banging on the line. Great fish to catch and a great vid. Thank you for the inspiration.👍
