Great video! Sea Fisheries or the States should get some Greek fishermen over to help cope with the octopus invasion - and teach how to prepare them. So far they havent been on the local menu. Seems we need to change that.
@FISHINGWITHCAL4 күн бұрын
@@stevenr2463 Yeah, I think they’re trying to sell the octopus to a few restaurants now. It’s one of those things that isn’t everyone’s cup of tea so it’ll be interesting to see what happens in the near future. That bad thing is, lobster sky rocketed in price over the last few years so it’ll only go up even more now the fisherman are finding it hard to catch large numbers.

@nancys22126 күн бұрын
I'm going to try your dipping sauce with fish since I'm not nowhere near an ocean. The only time they have fresh lobster in my area is between Christmas and New Years, and they sold out in the first 2 hours of the first day, and only day of sales! Unfortunately, I wasn't one of the lucky ones who got one. I had to settle with a frozen lobster and three frozen tails. How I envy you, Jay, and the others who bring us your postings and your catch and cook ups. I've always wanted to live by the sea. First time visiting your show and you now have a new subcriber. Thanks again, hello from the states!

I’m looking forward to it regardless. Our Dorset bass seem so lethargic they can’t even summon the energy to run away from my torch at night - great for watching but not so much for catching! Either that or they just don’t like me 😂
@FISHINGWITHCAL14 күн бұрын
@@Beng12952Haha. Maybe you’re just not timing it right and you’re there when they’re not feeding? Grab a foraging net, if they’re that docile, you’ll be able to just scoop them up to have a look at them then release them.
@Beng1295214 күн бұрын
@@FISHINGWITHCAL Could be, I’ve had an awful blanking spree for a while now on my usual marks though, whereas this time last year they were fishing like clockwork on the same times and tides. Some people have said the water is colder than last year but yet others are still catching. I’ve only been lure fishing for just over a year now though, so much to learn yet. A lot of the fun besides catching is all the other stuff you see that most people don’t.
