Agreed. when a client has creative ideas all the way to the point of creating a shot list it makes the shoot way more efficient. On the other end of the spectrum you have clients that have no direction and even worse those who have a marketing “team” who all chime in with input after the shoot but aren’t even on the same page with each other. 🤣

The filming, in an area where a commercial license is required. They think if they can film with a phone, it is okay to bring your lights and cameras..... I even had another filmaker go, "we can film, no one will be there in the evening!" When you need a permit. Some people think it is just like using your phone. Then, if you get asked to move on, the client goes, didn't you organise this???? Looks unprofessional. GOOD POINT! 😮

Great topic. I need to define what differentiates a revision and a re-edit in my contracts. If I have to start from scratch because you did a poor job with the project brief that is a re-edit and not a revision in my books. If I’m substituting clips at a specific timestamp, that is a revision.

We want to see more of Helen ! In the part where you mentioned that you don’t have a ND filter for the lens, I would’ve crank the shutter up as it’s a talking head shot with little to no movement from the talent. Very small risk of it being noticeable and you can still add motion blur in post if necessary.
