I don't necessarily have an issue with the idea of statues in themselves. The problem is when people start bowing to them, leaving offerings, parading them around, singing to them etc. and praying to the subject.

It is funny that a non-white person made this video, with depictions of Jesus and Mary always conforming to western phenotypes and stereotypes, wearing historically inaccurate clothes, with inaccurate depictions. And the "white Jesus" was actually canonized by the Catholic church, when some polish nun had a vision of Jesus, and had it painted. Canonized depictions of white Virgin mary are also abound. But to be frank, this isnt because the people who made these depictions were racists who believed in white supremacy, because thats what idol worship entails. Idols are not so much a depiction of the divine, more than they are a depiction of the environment and culture of the artists who create them. Of course, the polish nun who claimed to have seen Jesus had him painted as a white man, because thats what she's accustomed to. Her idea of Jesus corresponds to that what she believes Jesus should look like, and any other suggestion would not suit her. As such, how can you continue to venerate images of a divine being, knowing that they're false?

I entreat your audience to at least read the entire chapter 12. or better still can start from chapter 11 of Revelations. Again, not at any point did the book of Acts record such prayer practice. Sure, most of the words of the hail Mary prayer are pulled from Scripture. But doesn't mean the practice of actually praying to Mary is Biblical...

The Bible verses are for us not to worship the graven images of OTHER gods. So if the graven images are of God Jesus Christ and the Father God and by His glory, images of all His anointed people, Mother Mary, all the angels and saints, it is only right. All these graven images are in the glory of our God, Jesus Christ and our Father God. They are not for OTHER Gods!! Why I have never hear videos explain it like this? If I bow and pray before a statue of Jesus Christ, it is praying to God and not other Gods. So it is not against His commandments. I have full conviction and faith that I am praying to Jesus Christ when I pray before the graven image of our Lord hung on the cross every Sunday I attend church. Its an image of our Lord. i understand where you are coming from as I am quite conflicted on this topic. The problem I have with the images is how do we know that is what Jesus looked liked. Historically after the death of the original apostles of Jesus, there were no drawings or descriptions of his appearance. We know that after the acceptance of christianity by Constantine, Christianity became heavily influenced by a lot of pagan traditions. There are lots of theories that alot of this drawings and paintings were inspired by deities already being worshipped at that time. so if they were inspired by them doesn't that leave a blemish on those images. I'm just looking for answers , I don't want any arguments or fights.
