I guess I'm speaking from a place of misunderstanding, but for me meditation is a silent process, something you do inwardly using thought. I'm just not sure how it's possible to meditate while counting beads on the rosary and repeating memorized words. I also don't see how something not specifically instructed in the Bible is biblical. We never see Jesus or any of the apostles in the Bible praying the rosary. Yes, meditation is Biblical, and thinking about the life, death and resurrection of Christ is something we should definitely do, but why is it necessary to count beads and repeat these words while doing so? Who instituted this and in which Scripture is it based on?

I would argue that perhaps people who worshipped idols in biblical times, also believed that the physical item they were kneeling in front of was only a representation of whatever god they intended to worship. By this logic, I could take any item, think it is a representation of God, and kneel in front of it, as it is only the intention that counts. I don't know, sounds kinda sketchy to me.

I have seen catholics bow down, light candles, wear sarees and cloths and pray to idols. God is spirit. We should worship him in spirit and truth. For catholics idols are a way to make money. There is no catholics without idols. Read Bible and live accordingly. Do not try to white wash your faults.

I led a typical secular life. Many years later I had a reawakening and spent a long time studying what was the earliest church like and where to find it… Answer- Catholicism.. I was in it all along. Reading the early Church Fathers (Ignatius of Antioch, Justin Martyr, etc) was profound. I can’t recommend their letters enough. Another thing I discovered is some of the best Catholics are the Protestant pastors (and there are MANY) that gave up everything - including friends and family to become Catholic. So I'm not here to attack ANYONE, just to ask a few questions because I'm a Christian, I'm on your side BUT...i've been doing a lot of research in The Rosary, and I still can't get over the fact that I don't think we should ask Mary for intercession, 1 Timothy 2:5 " For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ" ...then regarding James 5:16, I understand it says we should pray for one another, but if you read the CHAPTER from James 5:13-20 we read about people on EARTH interceding for each other, not from the afterlife, then regarding Revelation 12:1...it doesnt state Mary is crowned queen of heaven and earth, the crown has 12 stars that might represent the 12 Tribes of Israel or the 12 Apostles (I personally think it's the 12 tribes)....so yeah, still sceptical, don't get me wrong I think it's a beatiful prayer, butI don't do anything without fully understanding it

It is wrong and it is idolatry to have statues and images. Having statues and images is lack of awareness of God's omnipresence. (Exodus 20:4-6 is also God's word) MATTHEW 6:6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and PRAY TO YOUR FATHER, WHO IS UNSEEN. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

It was God who told them to make statues. What authority do men have to make one. God is sovereign. We are under God's command. Second, where did you get those faces from? Your statues of Jesus come in different faces and colors. If I was Jesus, I won't be happy with that. Third, look at Catholics from different parts of the world how they dress them, pray to them, bow to them, light them with candles and incense, how they parade them on the street and sing songs to them. Hmm...is not that worship?

Why does the Catholic church perpetuate the wrong image of Christ? Jesus wasn't a blue eyed, bearded, european man like I am. I look a lot like the typical image of Jesus....Jesus was a 1st century Jewish man.....1st Century Jews in the middle east didn't look like me, or the Catholics church's typical image of Jesus.

By saying the statues we have are idolatrous the Protestants and Muslims are accusing us of literally worshipping multiple gods which is absolutely ridiculous.

I just learned the Tanakh (Old testament and scriptures Jesus himself referred to) has 39 books… The new testament had 27… Where did the extra 7 books come from in the Catholic version? The books of Henoch make more sense to me because the other Bibles used to use them at some point… Also… how did we get the Rosary… I get the point that you use Biblical scriptures to pray but if I take a tea cup, with holy Mary’s face and a spoon with a Cross and Jesus, and every time I scoop sugar in there I use scripture and pray… does that make it a Holy tea cup that empowers my prayers?

The smart-mouthed semantics of RCs about images does nothing to change the facts that they use images in worship and perform acts of worship with them. It is idolatry. No worshipper ever saw the ark--it was covered and restricted. No Israeli ever saw the ark, it was covered by a triple layer of coverings. The brass serpent was venerated by later Israelites and the King destroyed it, calling it a chunk of brass. It became sin. Just like your use of images.
